Re: Covid Vacs
We both had our Flue jab on Tue, not worried about the Covid one until called, probably some time in in 2026.
More worried about this mice plague, which has now reached Canberra and moving South, according to the press they are coming down in cars and trucks, they must be very intelligent mice, now they can drive. They say the cold weather will kill them, it was minus 6 here last night, but they are all wearing fur coats so that doesn't help.

But think we will be ok as they are just looking for good Feeding spots and theres nowt here!
Back from the Medical Centre and all so far AOK! But early days yet lets see what Tomorrow may bring if anything! Hope not!

#216 Rumour has it Vernon that some Rat has let on to the mice that they can get a good feed at your house , so dont be too complacent about it and like all good scouts Be Prepared. Get the signs up directing them into the backyard, otherwise they will eat your carpets, thats where the saying comes from getting eaten out of house and home . Cheers JS

Re: Covid Vacs
According to PETA the organisation for the protection of animals we should not kill them.
Poison is to be used to reduce numbers.
But no, we should introduce birth control for them?????????????????? PETA pizz off.
However if they could be caught a fortune could be made from either making fur coats out of them, or better still selling to a Vietnam restaurant as fresh meat.

Re: Covid Vacs
Funny you say that JS as we have had Rat baits out for quite a long time now, we get them from the Bush at the back of the Yard , come up for eats but all they get is green pebbles! LOL
So not many left around here now, as the baits have not been touched in Weeks now!

Doc we found when living in the country the best way to make rats take the bait is to put it in a fathom of old drain pipe on the ground near a bush, rats prefer the dark and small spaces where they can scuttle and hide, they will take the bait and scuttle back to the nest and feed the young. They soon disappear.
Of course you can use new drain pipe if you haven't any old pipe, the rat won't mind.

Re: Covid Vacs
I use a similar item, but made of plastic, and in the middle of the plastic pipe cut a hole half way down, insert a piece of clear tube, top the poison up through the clear plastic, and you can see the bait drop as the clear pipe shows how much has been eaten, just hope the rat does not get under your house, when it dies it really stinks. i hate rats kt

Re: Covid Vacs
Only ever had one mouse in the house, [that sounds like a rhyme} we were watching TV when this mouse popped out from under a armchair and sat there, I was expecting him to ask us to change channels as he wanted Micky Mouse on. He shot into the kitchen and dissapeared I went and bought a trap and got him that night, that was last year, last month our oven blew up, when the bloke come to fix it found that all the stuff that they had under the oven to absorb any heat from the floor had been eaten away.
