Pleased for you Mike, I have just been informed I have a cataract after my annual eye test at the diabetic clinic, They wont do anything until it is absolutely necessary. Another day in the life mate Terry.

Mine was diagnosed year before last but optician said it would be monitored as not severe enough to warrant op.
Last Feb. she decided it was time and wrote a letter to my GP, he referred me to consultant (I had the choice of three hospitals), so I had an interview at the local hospital, then an examination in Newcastle and then the op last August.
The whole thing was done and dusted in 5 months. Well done the NHS!

Had mine done ten years back.
No problem until now.
I have to have eye injections every month.
Not a lot of fun.
