When Triumph introduced the TR7 they committed commercial suicide. What an embarrassment and an insult to a great run of true sports cars. I had a TR4A for a nearly 2 years sold it for a Ford 1500 Mk1 Cortina GT.

I sailed with someone who claimed to have managed it in a Messersmchidt, behind the Oxford Galleries in Newcastle.

Got rid of my GT6 in favour of an Opel Manta, much better in that respect.

My holigan car in the 70/80s was a Ford Capri 2.8i great car loved burning off Golf GTIs but do not try to go round a corner at speed with it. It was the only car I ever drove that you could spin the back wheels at 40/50 MPH by dropping the gears. Later I bought a Vauxhall Caviler 2l injection FWD now that could go round corners at speed.

#49 Should have said the Caviler was 4WD they only made a few of them 4WD, lovely car to drive.

Are you another one who got to the afternoon tea dances in the Oxford Gallerys Tony. Even the old teddy boys used to get in there used to trip over them in the toilets standing in front of the mirrors combing their DAs. Cheers JS

He never mentioned whether the canopy was open or closed, but am sure the fore and aft seats were not recliners

Had to drag my neighbours Ford Capri 2.8i out of the estate with my front wheel drive Nissan Cherry 1.2 after it had snowed
