Seen on Facebook. Eric Morecombe's statue is to be removed. A council spokesperson said people can laugh but Morecombe forced people to more than most.

Speaking about natives John, there are white natives of Glasgow and there are black natives of Glasgow. The funniest thing I ever heard years and years ago was a black native of Glasgow speaking with a broader Scottish accent than my own which took me completely by surprise.

I found similar on my first trip to Dublin,
in the early 70's, it should not have been
odd at all, just was not expecting it.

    Victoria,
I read once that there is ample evidence of intelligent life beyond our universe. This is borne out of the fact that they’ve never contacted us.

    RE: Statues

These are some of the apparent statue protectors and the type apparently we are told
are taking back a country, typical infiltrators on anything peaceful, doing much more
harm than any good, in the name of they say, of our country.

Taking back a country whose name they still can’t spell...god help us all....jpg

The name of which they cannot even spell....god help us all...

There have been many complaints here in Aus about these statues, and one of the complaints from the First Peoples is that a hero of the times when they were battling the invaders, and here I sympathies with them, is that there is no statue of Pemulwuy the indigenous leader who led a war against the invaders. Now losers have never had statues put up by winners, eg no statues of Hitler in Britain. But why don't the indigenous people, who's present day leaders have had $billions given to them over the years, not have had one made and put up, I;m sure they would get permission.

Des from my little knowledge picked up from others , the full blooded aborigine is averse to even seeing photographs of their dead ancestors , so think statues to them would have the same effect.
Just think the word statue with one little letter added the whole meaning of the word changes.
Maybe should have new Statutes to protect our statues, Cheers JS
