Re: Alpha Oil Rig Survivor.
This topic started with an article about Piper Alpha survivor Steve Rae.
Here is another excellent article about the Piper by Steve.
As usual just click the html below to read the article.

Re: Alpha Oil Rig Survivor.
JWS's reply to #33.
Thanks Fouro, he says what I have always said. Sitting on top of those underwater explosions, or very close to them, you would soon realise they were continuously being fed by production from the other two platforms who appeared not to have the authority to stop. This to me was the cause of the huge loss of life.
This time of year is always a bit grim for me as it brings back many unhappy scenes, so any mail sounding weird from me is probably me on a different tangent. And just speaking aloud nothing today is going to change the pasr, but it should never be forgotten the unnecessary deaths of so many.
Going back to an old post, that 'first' survivor still remains a mystery. I doubt if anyone is going to put their hand up, and say it was me. If I can get around to reprinting the statement I made many years ago just to prove to myself I still had all my marbles, it might clarify some of my statements I have previously made. Regards John Sabourn.
