I'm joining the climate change brigade. The other day we had a rain storm like I have never seen, so much rain that looking out the window was like being behind the Niagara Falls, the rain was sheeting of the roof. And to beat it all, the drinking water is so full of mud you have to milk it out of the taps, for the first time we have bought bottled water to drink. It JUST has to be climate change. Mind you the same thing happened the first year we came down here.

Des mate, do not be conned by those who claim the climate is changing.
We are experincing some odd weather patterns but that is all.
Australia, a land of droughts and flooding rains.

All that heat has taken so much moisture into the atmosphere, we expect the same down here in Victoria when the drought breaks.
Seen it all before, and no doubt will again.

As an aside if there is climate change what do you think yours will move to??

Slightly liked to this post, but read this report this morning on palm oil and added to fuel, in the UK they are considering banning the use of woodburning fires, but on the other hand are quite happy to see palm oil production in other countries, and the cutting down and burning of trees in other countries, so that cars and lorries can be more efficient in Europe, ah but that's a long way out of sight, so thats ok, kt

I wrote this several years ago, in my story of the Spice Islands. about the rain forests being cut down and palm oil trees planted by the daft Greens.
The Rain Forests are the Lungs of the world. once they are gone they will never return,

....... The rain forests have all but gone now, they have been cut down and burned to grow palm oil trees for bio fuels. This has killed off most of the wildlife including the `wild man of Borneo`, the Orang Utang, and the Dayaks displaced and their way of life destroyed. This can never ever be replaced, it has gone forever. All in the pursuit of profits and these mad people who think growing bio fuels will save the world when they are the very people who are destroying it

Since the 1970s, the Dayak have been baffled by the existence of mining projects, logging by forest concessionaires, plantations and industrial timber estates. Socio-economic expert Mubyarto said the presence of the giant projects in Kalimantan and Sabah changed the Dayaks source of wealth.
The rattan monopoly has impoverished the Dayak in East and Central Kalimantan. The gold mining in Ampalit (Central Kalimantan), coal mining in East Kalimantan and gold mining in Monterado (West Kalimantan) have caused the locals to suffer. The same thing has happened to the Dayak Bentian, Dayak Pawan-Keriau and Empurang. They struggle against the plantations, which are partly financed with foreign loans. They are forced to give their land to the investors. After the land transfer, all the plants, all the sacred places and cemeteries were demolished and replaced by palm oil trees. They are forced to pay the investors for the privilege of living on their own land in installments.
The project ruins the environment, as well as the social, cultural and political patterns. They have marginalized the sovereignty and dignity of the Dayak over the Land and natural resources.

When will they ever learn.

REGARDING THE SEA LEVELS RISING BY ONE METRE.

The surface area of the seas and oceans of the world is 360,000,000 square Kilometres, or 360,000,000,000,000 Square Metres,
so for the seas to rise by one metre, you would have to produce 360,000,000,000,000 Cubic metres of water.
Where is all that water coming from??? anyone know the correct answer,?? no guessing, that is what the Greens do.

YOU CANNOT MAKE WATER. THE SAME AMOUNT OF WATER IS ON THE EARTH TODAY AS THERE WAS 300,000,000 YEARS AGO.

I often wonder just what is going on with all the climate change debate.
Norway wishes to be emission free by 2035 by removing all conventional vehicles from the roads and replace with electric.
But they will continue to be the worlds 4th largest oil exporter.

China had an abundance of solar and wind energy but not enough to reach the norther part of the nation.
They have just commissioned 40 new clean cola fired power stations with another similar amount under construction.
Coal for these will come from Oz, a nation that wants to be emissions free by 2050.

Of course in both instances large amounts of revenue are raised by both countries from these exports.

China is converting much of the plastic waste to Diesel fuel, yet I know of so much plastic here, and no doubt in other countries going to land fill.
It just makes one wonder what all the fuss is about.

Russia has just experienced a heat wave along with many EU nations.
A climate scientist on TV the other day said such conditions existed 132 years ago and all we are experiencing is nothing more than weather patterns that repeat on a regular basis.
Recent heat wave in London, back in 1976 there were similar that went on for much longer, and again in 1956.

We have just had two or three days of warm sunny days. now today it is cold and Raining.
The whole nation was nearlet shut down , Panic./
All it was , the wind blew from the south bringing warm air from the Sahara, today the wind is from the NW bringing rain and cold air,

The Daft Greens are making a great fuss about it. now they will be putting more Tax on my little car, at the moment £300 a year , I only do 2000 miles a year , 40 miles a week., We don't have Road Tax any more, now it is Climate Tax.

brian get a smaller engine car road tax is less/none for smaller cars if the greens went to shale gas all cars could run on it only water comes out the tail pipe they are not earth friendly ? jp

Hi John
instead of paying the £300 a year tax, I would have to spend a few thousand Pounds,
they have me by the goolies.
The man across the street from me has a BIG Mercedes car, he has a business and does over 40,000 miles a year, and only pays £20 a year tax, grossly unfair.
