in 2014 I was taken into the QA Portsmouth with full painful body spasms , was in agony , radiographer told me to stop being silly and lie still , at 64 was ignore was a geriatric , I kept telling doctors that I had a broken neck in 1999 , Went through 12 months of deterioration till one physiotherapist had a brain storm and got me referred to Stoke Mandeville , Individually the staff were just overloaded , and some took the easy route , been a long road back , now polite but take no prisoners

Jim, I am pleased that your treatment was satisfactory, having had the big C myself I know how concerning it can be until all is sorted.

But something is amiss here, only in 24 languages?
With the number of 'others' in UK I would have thought 124 would be nearer the mark.

Keith, then why are you posting in an Alien language??

my son was in charge of Oncology, Gastroenterology and Herpetology in Cardiff
The delays in translations were incredible, he could not get on with the job of Curing Patients.
Everything, Diagnosis, treatment , EVERYTHING HAD TO BE TRANSLATED TO WELSH,
very few Welsh speaking people in Cardiff and most of the Staff cannot speak it,
In the end after a few years of frustration he packed it in and went to England. That was Cardiff's loss and England's gain.

###in all fairness i recently read a report wher by the welsh NHS is in a worse state both financially and in general than any other NHS .......it is of course the only one in mr corbyns hands or better to say under 100 per cent labour control ......please do not let them get hold of englands or i cannot speak for the irish or scots but it is in blunderland in wales much as brian ses caused by the ridicoulous..every thing in welsh ...even the majority of welsh dont understand it ....as for any complainers on the site with ref to the NHS ....well i guess non on our site are speaking from there wooden boxes ....what did we do at sea ...waiting a few hours for anti biotics ........jeez why should england tremble...regards cappy who has had no problems with the NHS or have any of his family had anything but 5 star treatment .....but a bottomless pit it is for sure ....but then you cant suit all the people all the time....wait for incoming now ...................

    Here are the languages.
    Albanian,Arabic,Bangla,Chinese (Cant) Chinese (Mand)Farsi,French,German.Greek,Gujarati,Hindi,Ita lian,Kurdish,Polish,Russian,Punjabi,Portuguese,Som ali,Spanish,Tamil,Turkish,Urdu,Vietnamese,Yoruba.

I was in the Royal Liverpool hospital there was a Chinese man and two Chinese women .I met them in the blood clinic then in the doctors clinic then back in the blood. The last time we were in the same place I said to the Chinese girl,we meet again, yes she said the other woman was the interpreter for my father she has had to go and meet another patient.I had a conversation with her why could she not be her fathers interpreter,I think it's the Chinese who use it (or abuse it) the most.My son comes with me to all my clinics (cancer only) he is my interpreter and believe me I need him at times because I cannot understand a word some of these foreign doctors are saying.A couple of weeks ago had a lady doctor seemed tobe Scandanavian besides the language problem she spoke very low,my son had to tell me what was going on when we got outside.

I received a letter from the Queen's Medical centre in Nottingham last week. The appointment information was on one page, the second page was double sided and contains advice on visitingvhospitals for nearly every language under the sun.
It is the same in most Government Deptartments, but don't blame them, blame the Inspectorate that lays down the ground rules. Departments that do not comply are fined and there status is downgraded.
