I posted the other week some numbers on the monies spent by various countries on armaments, today I found some figures regarding armed forces, mainly army, numbers for some.
USA 2.87 million with a similar number of reserves.
China 2.35 million with same number of reserves.
India 1.4 million with 1.2 million reserves.
Russia 1 million with 20 million reserves.
N. Korea 1.2 million.
Pakistan 643,800 with 0.5 million reserves mostly used as UN peace keeping forces.
Korea 625,000 with 3 million reserves.
Iran 533,000.
Vietnam 482,000.
Egypt 438,000.
With such numbers it is little wonder so much armament is manufactured.
There was no mention of UK numbers but the article did note that the largest employed number in UK is in the health department with 1.9 million.

Happy daze John in Oz.

You didn't go low enough down the scale John British armed forces currently have 144000 people you see as British aren't really an aggressive race . Has peace loving mild mannered people we don't need these huge armed forces .
