Confused
As some of you may be aware our Feral gov has just passed into law the Marriage Equality act.
As it was being debated in the lower house one MP, as gay as row of tents called to his partner in the visitors gallery asking, 'will you marry me'.
Silly me there I was thinking the nursery was down the road.
But wait there is more to come.
State gov has just passed the Assisted Dying Legislation into law.
A form of legalized suicide where the patient can in the last six months of their life request to be put down.
But if you commit suicide it is still a criminal offence by our laws and most insurance companies will not pay out on a life insurance on some one who does.
But assisted dying will pay out??
Now we are to have a safe injecting room.
In this place you will be able to inject yourself with Heroine, smoke Ice or any other drug of choice and there will be someone there to assist should you be taken ill.
But you cannot smoke in this room, state laws forbid the smoking of cigarettes or cigars in public places, they have concluded that smoking cam kill you!!
And we thought it was only the PC brigade that were mad!!!
But then the latest, there have been six cases so far of people marrying themselves.
Yes they marry to them self, there is even now a name for it 'pologomy'

Re: Confused
11 years ago last week I sat with my late wife as she succumbed to the Cancer that she had had for 2 years she was in a hospice and had morphine at the press of a button . I was then thinking but the morphine is depressing her breathing but she had no pain you have to weigh up the circumstances and say to yourself what choices would you make but I sat there thinking if a doctor came in and said we can press that button and it all ends now I still would not have asked for it . I was brought up with a very strong religious belief and in my own beliefs and we all have different ones it would be very wrong to end someone else's life or your own life . I also a few years ago had a long conversation with a guy who was religiously very strongly a Christian believer but also gay and he sat and prove to me using the Bible that being gay was not wrong at all the actual sex act devolved was Condemned but not the sexuality .. I had never looked at it like that before but yes he was quite right . When it comes to the Liberal laws to enable you to be euthanized or to enable you to have a same-sex partner then I think we have to say to ourselves where do we want to draw the line . Do you say bestiality and pedophilia are wrong are you then interfering with the rights of people who want to practice that I preferred that we were at the status Quo and stayed there and that whatever people did beyond it was their conscience . I think it's very sad with all this modern legislation to show how liberal we can be when you go against what are regards of the fundamental morals that I for one in the old Dark Ages were brought up with as the bread and butter

Re: Confused
The spell checker is one of my biggest nightmares I can end up writing an email or a post pressing the submit or send button and what I see in front of me is nothing like what I wrote the spellchecker somewhere has waved a magic wand over it and changed words . But then have to spend the next 10 minutes editing it to read what I actually wanted to say . It seemed to take forever to convince the spellchecker that we spoke United Kingdom English English and not some overseas development of it . When I was at school in the dim and distant past English language was fading fast and I think that it's something that today's youth should be given back reinstated with all the different participles and tenses and port to speak it proper not like what the BBC does now in this day and age in it . There are some marvelous language available to us and some wonderful words that are almost passed into fire of History I would love to see English revived for all of us

Re: Confused
Rob, you are correct. Once you begin to introduce these conditions how long before someone wants to 'improve' them?
A distant relative in Ireland sent us a rather disturbing text regarding same sex marriage in Ireland.
As you may be aware the Catholic church will not conduct such marriages.
But one priest has come out and said,
'If there are any gay priests in Ireland and they are prepared to come out then maybe they would be prepared to conduct such marriages'??????????????????
Gulliver, I was not sure when I heard about persons marrying themselves and according to a well know professor here the word is correct.

Re: Confused
I hate the fact I now have to order a "regular Americano". What ever happened to a medium sized coffee?
Having an "issue" instead of a "problem".
"Reach out to" when the correct word is "ask". For example: "I will reach out to Kevin and let you know if that timing is convenient". Reach out? Is Kevin stuck in quicksand? Is he teetering on the edge of a cliff? Can't we just ask him?

Just means skimmed / low fat milk.

Apparently, The Double Ristretto Venti Half-Soy Nonfat Decaf Organic Chocolate Brownie Iced Vanilla Double-Shot Gingerbread Frappuccino Extra Hot With Foam Whipped Cream Upside Down Double Blended, One Sweet'N Low and One Nutrasweet, and Ice is the longest possible order you could order at Starbucks.
