Re: do the police have a right to reveal infomation
Firstly I find the info produced by the detective rather strange. When the Magistrates Courts became part of the ministry of Justice, we used there computer systems.
These systems were closely monitored, producing reports on request of sites visited.
Our security manager was caught out by the system and fired.
Why has the detective taken nine years to report the alleged breach, what has he got to gain?

Re: do the police have a right to reveal infomation
Privacy legislation here in Oz make sit almost impossible for any information to be revealed.
However, one TV presenter and two MP's have been caught out looking at porn on computers.
The presenter also charged with sourcing child pornography information.
The question has now been raised as to how this mat effect any trial as information now in the public domain, information which at the time should not have been released.

Happy daze John in Oz.

Re: do the police have a right to reveal infomation
Privacy legislation here seems odd to me, what should be private often is not.
The DVLC sells vehicle reg and driver details ad hoc esp to private parking companies,
our Council sell resident details, it goes on.

Re: do the police have a right to reveal infomation
Where I see this has gone wrong in my opinion the police are there to uphold the law and not to be the judge or the jury so where a policeman starts to tell confidential information he is going against his own codes and passing ad actioning judgement in this case it appears that sometime in the past there was a raid on Damon greens Office which should never have taken place whilst the police were looking for a source of information for a government leak Green being an opposition minister at the time I believe that some of the policemen were in the deep do do for doing it and this is obviously payback time , that isn't the sort of policing I want to see in this country

Re: do the police have a right to reveal infomation
The ex policeman is being investigated, apparently when you leave the force all documentation regarding crimes should be handed in, this Policeman did not?
The head of the Manchester force has stated that this is all wrong.

Re: do the police have a right to reveal infomation
Hi shipmates, The government mandate is for all departments to sell information to the highest bider, your information is public record ? you have no rights , only the people above the law in the U.K. have any rights.
