I don't know how many people receive £20.000 pa on benefits this attachment tells you the amount that you would receive if unemployed. So throw another £100.00 pw on for rent and a further £2.000 for rates still comes to nowhere near 20 grand.

seems to be better than my Rum,
In Benefits, any thing over the Tax Allowance should be taxable as income tax, as in a pension, simple.
Many people who are working earn less than people on Benefits and they are taxed over the allowance. so they do not increase a wage to make them pay more tax or increase a pension to take tax so why increase the Benefits to take out tax, ????? the people on Benefits get more than I do on my State Pension and MN Pension, I pay INCOME TAX so what is the problem,?????.
    Cheers
    Brian

    I HAVE NO [PROBLEM.

    Seems you do.

In any reality, the Government will have looked at your disposable income and may yet tax you more ?

    Chat to your MP etc.

This is the amount of benefits a family can receive. Gov,. Figures. not mine.

    . Benefit cap amounts

If you live outside Greater London, the cap is:
£384.62 per week (£20,000 a year) if you’re in a couple, whether your children live with you or not
•£384.62 per week (£20,000 a year) if you’re single and your children live with you
•£257.69 per week (£13,400 a year) if you’re single and you don’t have children, or your children don’t live with you

If you live in Greater London, the cap is:
•£442.31 per week (£23,000 a year) if you’re in a couple, whether your children live with you or not
•£442.31 per week (£23,000 a year) if you’re single and your children live with you
•£296.35 per week (£15,410 a year) if you’re single and you don’t have children, or your children don’t live with you

    ALL TAX FREE
The Single man on Benefit gets more than I do with my State Pension and MN Pension. then they take off me over £1,000 a year in Income Tax.

KEITH PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU ARE DRINKING, I WILL GO ON IT.

Sir, reread the entire thread yourself.

The only concern you have is with your own pension.

    You should have done better.

I am not to blame for your own down fall.
