Re: Scottish Order of Templars.
Thanks Fouro knew the gist of all that. Hugo de Payon is reconized among all Templars as the origin of knights of the Temple. He was to tortured to death on trying to get a confession of heresy out of him as hundreds of others also. Scotland was ahead of England in forming different but the same basics as English lodges . They have their own Grand Lodges as against the English Grand Lodge. To visit a Scottish lodge the ceremony's are slightly different. I like visiting because traditionally there is usually a bottle of whiskey on the go, to comply with Scottish tradition. Cheers JWS

Re: Scottish Order of Templars.
Diageo has to be the biggest surely ? when you consider the brand names they own in Scotland alone and also without taking into account that they also own a huge chunk of the Irish whiskey business as well?

Re: Scottish Order of Templars.
In the 50s if I remember correctly Japanese whiskey wasn't considered too good but one still gritted ones teeth and forced it down!!!. But there was Torys and Suntory. Not being a connoseur does anyone know the difference. Most goods in those days the goods apart from whiskey and other alcohol was considered shoddy apart from their chinaware. They even built a city called Usa so they could print on goods made in USA. However when they got over the shortage of raw materials they developed into one of the highest industrial countries in the world. They were considered copy cats at one time, but have since made their own reputation. JWS
