Atlantic cod fish from china.

I went to Sainsburys supermarket today and picked up a bag of Frozen ATLANTIC COD. by ROSS, sounds good, nice fresh fish from the Atlantic.
on the back it says .... PRODUCED AND PACKED IN CHINA. So threw it back in the freezer.
How Daft is that.??
Is the fish caught by Chinese Fishermen in the Atlantic and taken all the way to China, packed in bags and then shipped all the way back to UK?

It's the same with Atlantic caught Prawns, shipped to Change for processing, bagged and brought back for sale n the UK.

Hi Brain.
It's been going on for years. Fish caught in NZ are sent to Vietnam processed then sent back then sold at Aldi's, cheap labour. I'm surprised that our tinned fruit are not sent here for the same reason.

But here in Oz we get Cod from NZ in one of our supermarket chains. Labled as product of NZ.

Hi shipmates, anything from China is well dodgy, all the best fakes are from there today , all foods are not safe, except from the daily WET market from local farms, many people are killed by bad food from supermarkets, shops and the street stalls rice and meat are often faked ,fish is freshwater cat fish ? sold as cod same as from India soaked in saltwater with dye? only buy fresh sea fish off a fishing boat in China, but the water is toxic or polluted in many parts today. frozen fish can be anything very little is checked in the U,K short of expert food standard workers and cost of testing is very expensive. so take care of what you buy?
