I only buy British Les, no foreign crap for me, today in the News, Sausages are being sold in UK Supermarkets with the meat from pigs in Europe, [I just knew all the Pigs were in Europe] It has a Virus that destroys the Liver with Hepatitis. UK Pigs do not have this Virus. Hundreds of people have been diagnosed.

Only buy British.

Real Cod is easy to distinguish by the flesh type, only found in Cod.

But no worries mates here in Oz we eat Flake, better known to you as Gummy Shark and very tasty too.

NZ Hoki is very good and a bit like Cod, also farm grown Basa fillets are tasty.

Hi shipmates, COD, the best fish and chips in the U.K was by the dock gates in Hull many years ago? the fish was 100% cod off the fishing boats moored 200 hundred yards away, from the shop snow white flakes of pure north sea cod, so fresh it would swim in the hot oil, those were the days. I still can dream about it?

Louis that cod would have been from Bear Island in the Arctic and from around Iceland, North Sea provided herring and other such species. I'll allow you a bit of poetic licence there were no trawlers discharging 200 yards from the dock gates, St Andrews Fish Docks were at least a mile away (if not more) from Alexandria and George Docks, but I know what you mean
