George osborne
In keeping with my own policy of keeping away from Politics I used the title to focus on the rank hypocrisy that prevails in society today. Osborne was slated this morning for taking another position to add to his ever expanding CV. The man is making a lot of money that is for sure. My main thrust is why is it that we can pay our footballers larger salaries and very few people criticize this. Let us be frank. If Wayne Rooney had not been lucky in football he would in all likelihood ended up on the streets of Toxteth. Understand he cannot write his own name three times without making a spelling mistake. Coleen his wife would have at best ended up behind the counter at Woolworths.

Re: George osborne
About three weeks ago Rooney lost HALF A MILLION POUNDS in a Casino in one night..
He is also a hero of people who watch football and who have nothing ,
There is something wrong somewhere.
.
In 2014 Anne and I had a drink with Osborne in the Raffles Hotel in Singapore, He seemed to be a nice fellow at the time. So cannot really comment on his business activities,
But again if you want to get ahead you have to push yourself, sit back and you are going no where.

Re: George osborne
I take your point Jim, but then Rooney didn't dictate to the nation on matters financial, and dictate pay rises for the masses etc, and then using contacts made, disappear off to not one, but several high paid jobs, or as commonly know, feather nesting. Just an opposing view Jim with no malice, kt

Cappy well said , he is a man utd palyer and I am a Liverpool fan so he will not be one of my favourites . I mentioned a charity I help with all be it small donations Claire House, a childrens Hospice on Wirral. My wife and I were helping out at summer fund raisng event a couple of years ago. At that time Rooneys wife had a half sister who was in care there, wee girl has sinced passed. My wife was going round with the collecting tin and she made a beeline for Rooney. He wrote a cheque out and handed it to her to put in the tin £250,000. He was a regular over there auctioning off signed football shirts he would even get some of the other Man U players to tag along at times . I have seen Steven Gerrard and others over there at charity gatherings. Not all footballers are arseholes, yes Wayne Rooney has his faults but, Hi we are not all angels in this life.

Re: George osborne
Wayne & Coleen Rooney have done more good in one minute than J Dixon would ever achieve in his lifetime.I don't have to spell it out what good that they do and they don't shout about it either.I suppose you don't mind Andy Murray knocking up £75 million, and good luck to him too.I'm afraid you picked on the wrong people having a go at the Rooney's.You said if he had not been lucky in football he would've ended up on the streets of Toxteth.Could'nt read or write, that's the value of having good parents to steer him in the right direction and Coleen is self made a lovelly person like her will always achieve.
