Lewis, you mention the Chilcot report on the war.
We have here in Oz Royal commisions to look into such events and are I would assume similar to this rteport.
The problem with all is the terms of reference those looking into the matter are working with.
Depending on those terms any result can emerge and it may not be the full story or even the truth in full.

But from what we saw of Blair from afa,r he was a slime ball with very little ethics and with a greater interest in self promotion and advantage that any I can recall over recent times.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

    Hi Jim.
I do not blame these footballers for taking these "sickening" wages.
I blame the people who are prepared to pay this amount of money
and the supporters who are prepared to pay these exorbitant entry
fees,£60/70/80, so I have been told, for one and a half hours.

PS Then these games finish goal less, what happened to these expensive
    so called "strikers"

If you have never experienced the buzz of a football stadium full of 40k,50, 60,or 75,000 people in full voice well you would not understand.
I am a Liverpool fan and when the adopted anthem starts the passion goes through the roof.

When you walk through a storm, hold your head up high
And don’t be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm, there’s a golden sky
And the sweet, silver song of a lark
    Walk on through the wind
    Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
    Walk on, walk on
    With hope in your heart
    And you’ll never walk alone
    You’ll never walk alone
    Walk on, walk on
    With hope in your heart
    And you’ll never walk alone
    You’ll never walk alone

Dave, go and see premier football match in Germany it's a fraction of the cost of a game in England.
The amount of money clubs get from TV is obscene. Premier League Champions got
£153m last season, clubs relegated £100m.
Time some of the money filtered down to the lower leagues.
    Regards
    Vic

Never been to a football match since 1946, don't care how many are singing, All I heard was thousands screaming, I was being crushed to death , a man saved me and two minutes later he was Dead, That was the Bolton Disaster. never again.
Not the price of a ticket, it is the price of life.

The only time you get a crowd of the numbers you are mentioning woud be either 6 nations or the rugby world cup or maybe the Heniken Cup, What price is it for a 6 nations ticket and that is if you as an average punter can get one.

Oh and I do agree that the price of a PL football match ticket is disgraceful. I think here in France I can watch Bordeaux play for about €20.00 and they are in the top league in France.

We had Liverpool here in Melbourne to play an exhibition match with one of our clubs.
100,000 people filled the stadium, scarves waving, crowd ALL singing the theme song for Liverpool. The atmosphere was electric.
Comments on talk back radio next day said they had never seen anything like it and why did Liverpool get such a turn out when the Australian Rules competition never gets such apart from grand final.
Many said it brought a lump to their throat when the singing began.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

I see that a football manager has been reprimanded for saying to an African player hope you didn't bring ebola with you, which by her own admission she treated as a joke, but then much later decided it was racist and received an out of court settlement of £80,000, but has now decided to take it further, ho! the beautiful game
