As far as I can remember Bob it was banter, jokes and mainly small talk about everyday life on the ship plus what our
expectations were for our next port of call, six weeks at sea on the Aus NZ run it just came natural to take it a day at a time,
I was only on cargo ships and was never on a ship that had a bar, we used to have a film on deck if the weather was good
we also had a canvas swimming pool on the NZSCo ORARI we played deck quoits cards and there was always somebody who
had a harmonica or guitar, I always thought ships were like floating villages where everyone knew everyone else, and they
were great lads and I have never met their like ashore. cheers JF

Yes Ivan I would like to know too - just what would someone who has never been to sea and who sits behind a computer and spouts mostly drivel, know about what went on and what we talked about or did not, as the case may be.
