Re: CEO pay scales
How many on this site give regularly to charity. My wife does and usually approximates about 500 dollars for the year which is deducted from very small pensions. These go to the Cancer Foundation, The local hospital, the arthritis foundation , the heart foundation, the flying doctors and others. In addition to this am a member of one of the worlds biggest charity organisations world wide as others on site are. If it wasn't for the ordinary man in the street given to charity a lot of strife would ensue. Must state however the organisation I belong to. There is no overheads. Is never spoken about but gets a lot of misinformation thrown at it by people who know nowt about much about charity. Are to busy talking about other people's scandals in their tabloids. Cheers JWS

Re: CEO pay scales
There have been regular articles in the M.O.S. about the UK foreign aid budget and how it is misspent.
The number of so called consultants that cream off monies for fees in unbelievable..

Re: CEO pay scales
in all honesty john we give nothing like that .....on a regular basis but as a family we gave in two large donations one to the charity for IVF..... of a cheque for the region of twenty thousand pounds which my daughter organised a charity ball for we were well supported by our friends to whom we were greatly indebted ......the other when pat was lady captain at the golf club we gathered through the year a substantial sum for a childrens charity which she happily gave to them....we still give to this charity on a regular basis ......regards cappy ...ps for a true charity i am happy to give but not for them who wont help themselves....cappy

Re: CEO pay scales
must say on a more humerous note in my factory one day the receptionist called me to the front office and with a knowing grin on her face introduces me to sister helen who was colecting for the little sisters of the poor.....i opened the petty cash and gave her a tenner ....that was one mistake i made in businness next week sister helen came with 2 other little sisters of the poor i gave them a tenner she asked could they leave a charity box .......yes of course ...next week there was probably about 90p in the box sister helen and one other opened the box and looked quite sad i stood and watched /...quick as a flash sister helen in a very businesslike way stated the box is not so good we will take it away ..i had to turn away laughing to my self.....after she went sadly i had to tell the receptionist that i was only in to sister helen and the little sisters of the poor every one week in three and a fiver would be the max ....cappy

Re: CEO pay scales
One thing that does annoy me about a lot of charities is if you donate online , they hammer you for ever more unless you block them or unsubscribe.
Leon Brittan: Thatcher minister accused of failure to act on child sex abuse dossier dies | The Independent
I know these Charities have to cover admin costs and some are worse than others.
My favoured Charity is a childrens hospice on Wirral called Clair House. I have a direct debit each month with them it is not very much but it is something. They never pester me for more or contact me by email. I started by just tossing my lose change into a gallon whiskey bottle years ago when I still lived in the UK. I hate copper and 5 pence coins. You would be suprised how much you can get into a gallon whiskey bottle. My other favoured Charity is MacMillian nurses but of late they have become a pain in the ****. I have unsubscribed to them now but will make a donation usually twice a year.
