That has been the biggest cause of the problem. Credit has been too easy to get. Used to be to get hire purchase had to prove you could pay back. Today no one seems to care. It's spend spend spend for tomorrow you die. Bad enough for a person to be in debt never mind a whole country. Gone are the days when you worked hard for what you got and the longer and harder the more richer was your standard of living. If you come under that category today unless you have power of a large industrial power behind you, you will be penalised for being hard working and frugal and to pay tax so someone else with less foresight can also live to the same standards. My sympathy goes to those in that position. What one sees as the present day result of this is to all intents and purposes government taken taxes off the poor and giving away to other poor in other countries where governments there are not completing their obligations to their own people. Any government of whatever hue who chose the plight of their own before others would get my vote. JS.
