Have all ready voted with a postal vote for Conservative. The thought of Corbyn as PM is abhorrant. In Scotland today we have the shite National Party publishing their manifesto. Full of the usual crap and spend, spend, spend. Sturgeon has disregarded the Labour Party as any form of opposition and is aiming for the Torys, although she does concede that May will win the election with a sizeable majority. She still wants independence and wants to remain in the single market. This is inspite of Spain declaring that if Scotland is given any special treatment post Brexit they (Spain) will veto it. So there goes Sturgeons plans down the pan.
    Regards

    May v Corbyn - Thoughts:

Opinion has of course been polarised between supporters of both camps. I thought I'd offer my impressions, as frankly I don't want either of them in No 10, but I recognise the reality that one or other of them will be.

My vote will be both local and for a local candidate, this person has a proven track record and results.

My vote will not assist Nationally.

I would like to see the NHS sorted and kept.

May is intent on getting rid.

Kaiser Permanente is a private healthcare organisation based in California.

But unlike many other private healthcare companies in the US, Kaiser provides a complete model of integrated pre-paid insurance along with healthcare which is supposedly provided free at the point of need.

Secretary of State for Health Jeremy Hunt seems to love Kaiser. He and other ministers have personally visited the company at its California headquarters – several times in fact:

And Kaiser’s own website lists other recent visitors from the UK, including many NHS hospitals and NHS trusts as well as HM Treasury and the Ministry of Health itself:

Alarmingly, Theresa May has specifically refused to guarantee she will not open up the NHS to US firms in a post-Brexit trade deal across the Atlantic.

Understanding the plans to replace the NHS with the Kaiser Permanente system explains why there has been a recent speeding up of the ongoing marketisation and privatisation of the NHS.

It also explains why the Tories were so desperate to push through their disastrous NHS reforms in the first place. A central plank of the NHS reforms was the formation of Clinical Commissioning Groups – which were openly based on Kaiser’s Permanente Medical Groups and which also happen to be a central plank of Kaiser’s healthcare system.

And understanding the plans to replace the NHS across England with the Kaiser Permanente system goes a long way to explaining why Theresa May has done nothing to resolve the worsening NHS crisis, which she is gambling will only make the public more keen to see changes to a system that is being deliberately broken.

So if the Tories win in June – say goodbye to the NHS in England and hello to Kaiser Permanente …

So Lehman Brothers, had nothing to do with the 2008 world recession??

In politics and economics, Black Wednesday refers to 16 September 1992, when the British Conservative government was forced to withdraw the pound sterling from the European Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM) after it was unable to keep the pound above its agreed lower limit in the ERM. In 1997, the UK Treasury estimated the cost of Black Wednesday at £3.4*billion.[1] In 2005, documents released under the Freedom of Information Act revealed that the actual cost may have been slightly less, £3.3*billion.[2] Until the United Kingdom's decision to leave the European Union in June 2016 it was the most significant event to happen during its time as a member of the European Communities (EC)/European Union (EU) and was made even more embarrassing as the United Kingdom was holding the Presidency of the European Communities at the same time.
The trading losses in August and September were estimated at £800*million, but the main loss to taxpayers arose because devaluation could have made them a profit. The papers [clarification needed] show that if the government had maintained $24*billion foreign currency reserves and the pound had fallen by the same amount, the UK would have made a £2.4*billion profit on the pound sterling's devaluation.[

I was amased that the Concervatives mentioned Manchester as a reason that they have lost ground.

I have since received the above and post not to gain brownie points, I do not need them.

I would hope that any American members that actually know more can verify the content or explain more.

If there is any element of truth in the information, I think it is only fair for us to know.

I read these posts about peoples politics and it brings back memories about my own life in the UK. Times dont really change when it comes to politicians. My own background was Labour on my fathers side was strong labour and his favourite saying to me was Son, the working man cannot afford not to vote for Labour, my mother being Scottish and a mind of her own used to always put the Liberal candidates photo in the front window, maybe just to annoy my father. However politicians mainly to me are the same as used car salesmen not to be trusted too much. All the politicians sitting in Westminster at the present apart from a very few, would if the truth was known prefer to go back to the old system which was in place and save them the hassle of getting off their behinds and doing something about running a country, that is if they havent forgotten, or ever knew might be more apt. Corbyn is apt to do just that and ignore the peoples primary vote, May I would imagine will be thinking of all the work that lies ahead and knows she will be finished if she doesnt carry out the peoples wishes. Thank God for the very few patriotic politicians we had who came out and spoke their minds. Myself if I still had a vote would vote for the Conservatives in this case as is the only chance of getting away from the beast of Europe and being a self governing country again. Myself once again if either of them was on fire, I wouldnt cross the street to throw a glass of water on them. Cheers JWS PS The working man today is as rare as tits on a sparrow. My mother maybe had a soft spot for Jeremy Thorpe. JS

I am personally fed up with the constant attempt at brainwashing. STRONG AND STABLE.

I think she has blown that now.

Her point was to deal with Brexit on our behalf, she would be the one to do it.

‘The Battle For Number 10,’ screened on Sky News and Channel 4, fell short of a head-to-head debate between the main party leaders after the prime minister said she would not take part.

The part that sticks out most is that she apparently, indicated she would be prepared to walk away without a deal at the end of Brexit negotiations.

Lewis, the global credit squeeze of 2008/9 and that is what it was came about from deregulation of banking industries brought in by Clinton.
Leehman Brothers were victims of their own making as were a number of other banks and credit societies.
With the banks no longer being controlled they began to lend to persons who had no hope of ever meeting their commitments.
Two of the worlds largest providers of credit are believe it or not Russia and China.
When they began to realize that there was a problem and they were in danger of not even getting their basic money back let alone interest they pulled the plug on credit supply.
Without that so many cannot operate, result, the crash.

As to charities you speak of in an earlier post, interesting.

An international panel has just released here in Oz the findings regarding such operations.
Most border on being fraudulent, most of the monies going in CEO salary or administration costs. In some instances as little as 3% of money raised actually goes to the needy.

As to the 'U' turn matter, that is the case with the majority of leaders.
Promises made at the time may have been done so in good faith. But when treasury tells them there is no money for that, or such an idea will not be good for the nation a "U" turn is often the outcome.
