Agree Marion, I was not happy that Obama forgot who was piloting and aboard those planes, but does this mean Trump can't think for himself and has to copy Obama? When he cancels Obamacare and replaces it with something "You'll love, you'll love, it'll be really huge..huge." Maybe it will be a copy too of Obamacare.

Ps to above. Obama designated those countries as terrorist countries and required all coming to the US to require extra vetting, he did not ban those countries citizens entry. Just the bad guys and it took the good guys longer to get a visa.

#71, President Trump hasn't banned Rodney that's the so called media's words. There is a 90 day 'extreme vetting’ leeway. As to Obamacare I don't know enough about that to comment .....yet

Think the problem is he is an independent thinker at that's where problems may arise

Sorry, but people with green card visas (Permanent Residency Visa, able to stay and to work in the US) have been returned to their country of origin or to their previous embarkation port of departure for the US.

Following is the story about six green card holders returned to Syria, who spent ten years applying and being vetted for permanent entry into the US and their brother a Christian Syrian American who sponsored them.

A Syrian family living in Allentown, Pennsylvania just watched their relatives get deported right in front of them by the administration they voted for.

Dr. Ghassan Assali and his wife, Sarmad, are originally from Syria but have been in the United States since the Clinton administration. Dr. Assali earned his degree from New York University and has a dentistry practice in Pennsylvania. Sarmad’s two brothers, their wives, and their two children have been trying to flee Syria since 2003, and were finally approved for residency in the United States in December of 2016.

However, when the six Assali relatives arrived in the United States only hours after Donald Trump signed his executive order indefinitely banning immigration from seven predominantly ****** countries (including Syria), they were promptly detained by U.S. Customs.

“Two security guards were waiting for them,” Sarmad Assali told NBC News. “They took them. They said, ‘Are you Syrians?’ They said, ‘Yes.’ They said, ‘Come with us.'”

Assali said her vote for Donald Trump was done out of a desire to see secure borders, though she didn’t expect one of her candidate’s chief campaign promises to be applied to her relatives, who are all Orthodox Christians with green cards. Even though White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus recently stated that Trump’s order wouldn’t apply to green card holders, Assali’s relatives were nonetheless forced to board the next flight to Syria despite waiting over a decade to be with their family in the United States.

“I understand he wants to make America safe,” Assali said. “We’re all on with this. I definitely want to be in a safe place."

Ghassan Assali compared the U.S. government under the president he voted for to the Islamic State, expressing disappointment that the country he calls home now issues religious purity tests to immigrants,.

President Trumps executive order is an indefinite ban [entry to the US forbidden] for 90 days placed on the seven countries previously mentioned. The ninety day part is to allow time to write a law in presidential order form. So a ban is in effect until such time as the executive order is amended. Because of the uproar, changes are being made as I type, problem is there is confusion, today some are being let in, others banned.

#39 re liberal left marching against Trump.

Not so. Trump is trying to whittle away if not stop a forty year old law that legalized abortion.

A recording was made of Trump speaking about trying to make out with a married woman (while he was married as well), she wanted nothing to do with him, but in the course of his conversations he said as he grab women by their genitals.

That's two of many things women are marching against him.

If you lived in America and you wanted a NHS system of medical coverage you would be considered a liberal. If you wanted reasonable laws on gun ownership you would be a liberal. Trump wants to pass a law allowing ANY TYPE of gun available to the public (AK 47 for all).

That's another reason for the marching not all Republicans want abortion stopped, any gun or 30-50 shell banana clips to go along with your rifle. And some want medical coverage too. The crowds are made up of all types of Americans, both sexes, plus gay and lesbian, veterans, and both parties.

I'll repeat one more time. A democrat is equal to your Conservative party, a Republican is to the right of that, there are a few liberals that would make it in your Labor party, Bernie Sanders is one you may have heard of, but he is an Independent who ran against Clinton and lost. He ran as a Democrat then switched back to an Independent. He is the only Independent elected and serving in Congress.

I only post these corrections on Trump or the US when shipmates are posting false comments, not out of ignorance but because you only get bits and pieces of what is going on in the States.

    Hi All.
Is The Donald right or wrong? According to the large crowds around the world who demonstrated, { what it had to do with them I don't know] he is wrong to put a block on migration from countries who harbour terrorists until things are sorted out. Are they now going to demonstrate because the Trooping of The Colour at Buckingham palace has been scrapped in case there is a terrorist attack on the crowds watching? same thing same reason. He has mainly banned people from Syria, this is a country who have been fighting a civil war for five years, who knows who's in the zoo there, there were at least four proscribed terrorist groups,[according to Western countries} out of all these people now wanting to emigrate how many are or who's offspring will be in the news for placing a bomb, shooting, or driving a truck into a crowd, and if the Donald did nothing who would all these dickheads blame then. The main aim of a govt should be to protect the people of that country, seems to me he is attempting to do just that.

A green card holder cannot be deported unless he/she lied on their application or committed a treasonable act.

Green card holders have and are being refused entry back into the US after being abroad for family visits or vacation. People in the restricted countries who have spent on average 2 years applying for a green card, and after extreme vetting and being approved for a green card have been taken off planes, refused boarding at the ticket counter and detained and some shipped back to their own country (the seven restricted countries).

The head of a household, an Iraqi family, was employed for years as a translator to the US army has been turned back from his flight. He and his wife sold there house and car, quit there jobs, kids out of school, all of them ready to go to the US. Turned away.

The news is reporting that the presidential order is going to be modified to allow green card holders and those (like this family) to return or enter the US.

It seems to me this presidential order was not thought out, but rushed in order to show Trumps supporters that he is off and running.

The uproar across the US is because America is a nation of immigrants. Trump is a third generation on his mothers side (Scotland) and fourth on his fathers side (Germany), though he likes to claim Sweden. His German ancestry is well documented.

Why are Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, The emirates, Indonesia, The twenty odd xxxxxstan countries not included too, Surely business interests in Saidi, the Emirates, Lebanon and Indonesia wouldn't have anything to do with it would it?
    Thanks Rodney.

#44, Keith, I don't profess to know the rules and regulations our Queen has to abide by regarding State visits, but as happpy daze has already stated she's already had to meet and greet world wide murdering 'despots' including home turf Martin McGuinness who apparently has cancer or is it... alzheimers, [cause he cannot remember which side he's on!]....So I'm thinking President Trump will be a clean and welcomed hand in the Prince Philip household!

China and the wall, ancient history ?

Apparently the Mexicans are planning to dig tunnels, use the wall for graffiti and buy planes etc. How big is this wall meant to be ?
