Vic I was reading that in Spain they start selling seat tickets 90 and 60 days before the journey and that they go pretty quickly,I wonder if when all the seats are sold they don't take anymore bookings meaning no standing, they just keep selling them here and pack them in like sardines.

    Hi Louis.
Bloody hell mate have a talk to our stupid State Govt, they are doing the opposite here, NSW Govt has just sold the whole profitable power grid on a 99 year lease, they were going to sell it all to the Chinese but that was blocked by the Fed Govt.but they sold it to an investment Company, they are spending the money to build more motorways, or, as they are now called carparks. Would you sell your house to get the money to buy a new car and live in a rental for the rest of your life?
    Cheers Des

I think one of the best countries I ever visited as a non-seafarer was Yugoslavia. Even after Tito died he was still held as the guiding light of the country on his brand of socialism. Although you can read about his so called fetishes and his manner of personal living, you show me one so called world leader that practices frugality when it comes to themselves. It didn't however take too long after he died for the dogs of war to change all that. He was mostly held up by the west to be the common enemy and a communist leader. You tell that to his people, who to this day are still mourning his passing. As I said in one saying if you cant look to the past, you have to look to the future. Yugoslavia as a country was destroyed by outside politics. As Brian often quotes who needs them anyway. If someone took the time and effort to do a survey on Castro you would probably find that there were more for him than against. Isn"t that the basis of Democracy, the will of the people, and not the will of some despot posing as a President, PM, or the chief of whatever tribe runs the country. The sooner that more technically advanced countries leave others alone to sort their own problems the better. Nothing has been achieved in the Middle East, United Nations or no United Nations. Which in any case all countries are not members of. The infilteration of terrorists are more than likely have as their slogan words to the affect, you invaded my country we now invade yours. Which will be their excuse if they were ever brought to trial. Let them kill each other off, may help to sort the Climate Change problem. JS

With ref to Jims 31, when you take into account the profit from rail going to France Germany etc, apparently the Arabs own most of the large estates and a huge number of large farms, one wonders where is this Britain that we all love and are fighting for ??, looks like the whole lot has been flogged off, kt
