Zut Alors ! We Love You Too.
The French don't make it easy for we,our 'neighbour' to love them(as if!),do they;
Francois Hollande has told Theresa May that Britain's exit from the EU should happen "the sooner the better".
But at the Elysee Palace in Paris, the British Prime Minister reiterated the UK would not invoke Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, triggering Britain's EU withdrawal, this year.
At a joint news conference, the French president said Brexit was the decision of the British people and it needed to be respected.
He continued: "We would like it to be reflected in the best possible timescale to open a negotiation to establish what will be the relationship between the UK and European Union.
"The sooner the better in the common interest ... because uncertainty is the greatest danger."
Mr Hollande said there could be no access to the single market without allowing EU workers into Britain.
"It's the most crucial point," he said. "Britain will have to choose: stay in the single market and accept free movement or have another status."
Mrs May said that while she understood the need for "certainty and confidence" in the markets, it "will take time" for the UK to prepare for negotiations.
"Brexit means Brexit," she said, "and I firmly believe we will make the best of it. We will continue to work together."
He's a brave man that Monsieur Hollande, isn't he ? I can imagine a cartoon caricature of a little sissyboy boy with glasses ,peering out from big Mother Germany's protective skirts and sticking his tongue out at us,because he can !)
We British always knew we could rely on our great friends the French for support though couldn't we?
It also strikes me of how Hollande and Dodgy Dave (Cameron) look so alike.May and Hollande .jpg The same sentiments too. Just like with Cameron it was "Well you wanted to Leave,so go ! I'll stomp my foot to show my annoyance " !

Saw that interview here today. Same old problem, do you trust a Froggy, even a nice one, and do you trust any politicians to do the right thing for you and not for their personal benefit.
Though to give her credit your PM did sound positive.

Happy daze John in Oz.

That's what I like to see, a good unprejudiced and open minded appraisal of world politics.
Where would we be without such free thinking people?

Re: Zut Alors ! We Love You Too.
Nothing wrong with the Truth Chris.
The Frogs sank a lot of British Merchant ships in WW2 and the prison camps in West Africa were worse than the Japanese ones, they left all the Red Cross parcels rotting in the sun and rain, They also marched several British Merchant Seamen through the Jungles , swamps and across the desert to Timbuctoo and killed them there, their graves are tended by the CWGC.
I visit Tahiti and the "French" Polynesian Islands every year, going again next year, I have a lot of Polynesian friends out there, and the treatment of the Polynesians, a lovely race of people, by the Frogs is appalling. I do not know why the UN allows them to get away with it. No one can like a Frog.
I would never ever consider visiting froggy france. I have only ever been there on my ships.

Trampled Upon,Subjugated,Taken Advantage off ,Warred Against,Attacked ,a Third Rate country, instead of the Great Britain we are today.
It's called being realistic and pragmatic through knowledge and experience of the world's nations and what they have done......and are capable of doing.

#1, he does look like Cameron.
Don't know yet what she'll be like as a politician, but I think she looks hot, (as in, easy on the eyes).

Re: Zut Alors ! We Love You Too.
Has anyone noticed that all the politicians who have either denounced Brexit or are trying to tell us how and when we must exit the EU, or what will happen after the exit regarding trade etc., will no longer be in power next year.
Merkel is on a very sticky wicket and most likely after next years elections in Germany will no loner be in charge.
Jollande is facing defeat in France at its next election.
Obama will be forgotten by Christmas.
So why are we even bothering to speak to or listen to these people when come the day when we actually do leave non of them may not be their countries leaders?
