Re: The exit debate on tv
I've had this nagging feeling that we Leavers may lose, and that will be due to the younger voters, especially the students swinging it for the Remainers.
One listener on the radio this morning advocated increasing the voting age to 21.That would be going a bit far I think.
(Mind you I quite agree with him !)
That though is the kind of similar sort of dirty trick Cameron and Osborne would stoop to if they could-like lowering the eligible voting age to 9,and giving students two votes each !

Started to watch this programme with Michael Gove. Very well informed and clear speaker. However, eventually turned it off , b/c as usual, Dimbleby turned it into 'Listen -to-my-opinions-because- I- have -to- always - put- my-fourpennyworth-in.' Complete joke calling the programme,'Question Time' AKA Dimbleby Time.
Probably try catch-up on Youtube and then I can 'zap' him!

Re: The exit debate on tv
Well lads the pendulum is swinging from in/out by the day 18% Undecided and they could swing it, It does appear the scaremongers have captivated more younger people than us in our 60s and the bickering between M.Ps isn't helping anyone, This isn't about what side of the fence you sit on politically its a referendum on the destiny of our Country, We can vote government in or out every 4 years this is one chance one vote sink or swim i am voting out i have no problem with it, 2 of my 4 kids want to remain in i cant influence them they are young men with family and mortgages both time served tradesmen, My daughter and youngest son are amongst the other 18% But there adults the way they vote is up to them. And i think most of the 18% will vote one way or the other in the polling booth on the day. But it should be left to the people to decide not for politicians to influence. Terry.

Re: The exit debate on tv
Finally realized what Camerons tactics and his followers in government are-- They all want jobs in the EU when they have to pull the pin on their present one. Watch your back Kinnock you will soon be redundant. JWS

Re: The exit debate on tv
John, I watched Cameron giving an informative speech as they call it to a group of university students a few nights ago, There was one very outspoken young lady who raised a very important point, To quote her............... I am voting to remain in the E.U. Not because its want you Mr Cameron want i would never vote for a Tory government in my life the way you have treated students, The Disabled, The Unemployed, And a few others in England, But because although you are banging the drum to remain i think you want the majority to vote out, Which would enable your government to strip ordinary people of the U.K. There access to the court of human rights in Strasbourg amongst other things

Re: The exit debate on tv
This statement by Joe Anderson Mayor of Liverpool is totally irresponsible,he is saying that Vauxhall Motors WILL shut if we leave the EU,not could or may but WILL.There are no facts about Brexit or Remain all complete guess work and scaremongering, statements like this could terrify people into voting Remain and that is the purpose of them.

A Labour councillor Ed Murphy has stated that "only poorly educated working class people will vote to leave in next weeks referendum".
