Was said many years ago that the UN was a toothless tiger and it still is. They send in peace keepers to troubled areas but not allowed to use force to protect the population as has been shown many times. Just seems like a bunch of overpaid diplomats full of rhetoric but no bloody substance. All the wars that are being conducted at present should be under the control of UN combined forces not left to a few countries to enforce it. What fecking good are they when the money it takes to prop them up could be used better to alliviate poverty and homelessness. They like many politicians have to much interest in the arms building companies to change their ways for sure. As the old saying goes? Follow the money and you will find the culprit.

The UN passes resolutions that are only as good as they are policed, they may as well pass wind for all the good they do.

One resolution passed back in about 1948 says, 'any one seeking refugee status or asylum should do so in the first safe country they come to'.

So what do they do, pass through a dozen such countries just to get to one or two, UK and Oz come to mind.
