Save money
We are all used to the greens and everyone else with an interest encouraging us to save energy.
Here is two tips that I have carried out and my energy consumption has fallen.
1) fit reflector panels behind your radiators, reflects heat rooms heat up quicker. On sale from Lidl about £5 a roll.
2) Replace analogue thermostat with a digital thermostat, very reasonable from ebay.
A digital thermostat doesn't have the swings in temperature that an analogue has. I fitted one a few weeks ago, boiler doesn't fire up as much is did under the old analogue thermostat. Very easy to fit.
The tips outlined above cost about £13.
Regards
Vic

Re: Save money
We had a government offer here a few years ago for a free solar system with 8 panels. We now wish we had paid for and extra set. Excess current from the system is fed back into the national grid. Got the bill in today; $28 credit for the quarter that included part of winter. We get credits for three of the quarters that much more than covers the winter quarter. Free electricity and about $150 gratis for the excess we pump int the system!!

Re: Save money
Ah yes Cappy and on top of this blue mountain we're 3350 ft nearer to it (but further away on a winter's night).
By the way it was a funny thing but everyone I ever spoke to on that subject reckoned them from the lavatory seat?
