Madness pure madness
Here in Melbourne we have a talk back radio station that gets a daily report from UK. Today was one of those days that makes you wonder just what is going on, it makes me want to say 'stop the world I want to get off'.
In a northern town every Christmas time the local drama society puts on a show, for the last four years it has been Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Apparently in the neighbor hood there are a number of families who have a dwarf member, they have given their services for free as the show is for the kids.
But not this year. The PC brigade have stepped in and said using dwarfs is demeaning to them. Dwarfism is a recocnized medical condition. Instead young kids will now be used and paid some 2GBP per show, which will now be called Snow White and her seven friends.
A rather grumpy dwarf said he was not happy about this saying the knock back had meant he had to go see the doc as he had begun a sneezing fit. It is considered many to be a dopey idea.
Then the next one. A London lawyer gave a female lawyer a compliment and has been accused of being sexist for doing so. She went on to say such comments were a male way of gaining sexual arousal using females as
latent sexual objects.
I will now be n deep trouble as last week I told one of the staff in our local chemist how well presented she looked. She will also be in trouble as she said thank you.
Then here in Oz one of the best. A lady phoned in to say all persons over 65 should only be allowed in supermarkets after 6 pm as they are so low going around reading all he labels on the food.
Of course this lady will not make it to 65

Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.

Re: Madness pure madness
There are a multitude of those who identify themselves as Counsellors who offer their professional services to those that are 'aggrieved', 'stressed', or have a touch of the vapours regardless of their remoteness from an event.
In my younger days that's what family and friends and back fences were for.

Re: Madness pure madness
A reader in one national paper today replied to that by text
Tongue in cheek quote........As a white person I am offended at the title of the pantomime "Snow White & Her Seven Friends".
It should be renamed "Snow Colourless & Her Seven Friends"

Re: Madness pure madness
I don't like Snow, so I am offended as I prefer Rain, and why is it a she?, I am again offended, how about gender less, and Seven is an unlucky number so I again offended.
It should be called
" Rain colourless and the gendre less unstated number of people that Gender less knows about."
That should keep the PC people Happy, or Grumpy,
Brian
