Re: Election
We have just had two state elections here in Oz where first term govs have been dumped. Both were attempting to get the budget back into good shape, that take time and some hardship for some. he public were not prepared to take the pain so out they went. Now we have two more Labor govs and the debts will climb sky high. Here in Vic the outgoing gov had signed a contract to build anew freeway, one we badly need, the incoming labor gov have torn up the contract saying it will not be built. Fine but now they will have tp pay up to one billion dollars in compensation to the company. One billion for a road we will not get. So just think long and hard before you put any Labor gov back into office.

Happy daze John in Oz.

The country only has a short time to prepare for another five years of the Eton schoolboys misrule. Stock up the foodbanks, issue thousands of tents for those who cannot pay the bedroom tax, train the firing squads for benefit claimants, make sure the old, the sick and disabled have enough tablets in their medicine cabinets to take in case of emergency.
If however, the electorate give Dave a much needed kick up the ass disregard all of the above.
Loui, It sounds to me as if there is an election on the way, David Cameron called for business to give all their workers a pay rise today to share in the fact that we are getting back on our feet in this country, In his words the feel good factor is back under the Coalition's success
Does that mean he is planning on giving the Disabled who cannot move out of their homes because of essential alterations imposed by occupational therapists because landlords the country over don't have smaller accommodation available there bedroom tax back, I will have to read further into Mr Cameron's manifest Regards Terry.

Terry, if the figures from the OECD are correct then the UK is definitely on the way back, exports are going up and the UK economy is now fifth in the world having pushed Germany down to number 6.e

Re: Election
your wasting your time john ....all the sighns are of a rapid recovery compared to the rest of europe ...but like most people steeped in dogma they will not see ...we are recovering from the mess the last lot left ......regardless of the banking crisis the labour government left this country bankrupt ......and will soon in the present conditions in europe will soon leave us bottom of the pack again if they get in......god forbid they have not spoken about what they will do in government at all it is just constant dogma ....with there benefits they have created an underclass in the country ....who will only vote for more and more freebies ....that is the truth of the matterbut dogma is dogma ....i was brought up in a labour home but thank god i saw the light and stood on my own two feet got on my bike out of my beloved shields and made some money instead of being controlled by unions and small minded people.....and that john is what anyone with sense will tell you

Re: Election
#66 John you must realise that good news about this country is always taken with a pinch of salt by the populace and will NEVER be believed by many, (especially if achieved by a Tory Govt) whilst bad news is always believed 100% if achieved by any party
Because as the good man Winston said
You can please some of the people all of the time
You can please all of the people some of the time
You cannot please all of the people all of the time
And lets face it, some people will never be pleased, we are doomed Mr Mannering, DOOMED! I tell ye!
Not getting at anyone, just the world as I see it, or in most cases as the Press and Media relay it, having travelled the world and seen British projects and designs in in other parts of the world brought to fruition, never one mention is made in our National Press of these achievements, Airports, Seaports, Bridges, Tunnels etc designed by the likes of Sir Norman Foster on every Continent, even documentary makers, especially the BBC, who seem to have no pride in British achievements, the highest bridge in the world at Millau in France, designed by Foster with British project engineers, not a mention, not even in the credits, having visited the bridge, all credit to the French there is a plaque in the visitors centre advising that the bridge was designed by Foster. Other nations shout their achievements from the rooftops.
Good news is not welcome in the British Isles

Re: Election
....somehow i feel that the majority of people who see balls as the saviour of this great nation......which it is still a great natiion will be in for a big shock if they get in power again.......among my friends over the last few months i have chatted about the fate of the country in general ......one thing has stood out the people with any sort of vision for themselves and the country lean to the right and think expansively .....wherby the smaller minded of my friends see no futher than next month or even a shorter period .....this does not effect my view of them as friends......but strangely the persons leaning to the right are much better of financially than the others in general ......i write what isee.......isaw shields in its hard times .....sadly 60 years later it is still hard times .....i i look at the poorer livingstandards across the country and see time after time they are labour controlled and have labour mps......but i see now like the unions which are fizzling out ....the labour party members are leaning to ukip .....scotland has slung labour out perhaps not now ...but evenin my childrens lifetime.....labour will be finished......it was a good name years ago but labour is not carried on as in the past .......machines labour for us ......and of course we all no labours attitude to new ideas....regards cappy
