The Tragedy of Life....and so it goes on!
Recently, in the U.S., there has been a resurgence of race-related death and mob violence, much of it arising from the use (or mis-use) of a firearm. In August, 2014, one such incident occurred in Ferguson, Missouri, following the fatal shooting of Michael Brown, an 18 year-old Afro-American, by a white police officer. It was alleged that shortly before the shooting, Brown had robbed a nearby convenience store. Violence and looting followed and again, later, when, following a court hearing, the police officer was cleared of any wrong-doing. One can feel sympathy for those directly involved and the many others who may have been traumatised or affected by the tragic turn of events, especially, perhaps, for the families of the dead teenager and the officer involved.
As with most things in life, there are two-sides to every story. In the aftermath there were those who suggested that Michael wasn't really a bad boy while others told a completely different story. Recent footage has been circulated showing an earlier event in which Brown was the main participant in an assault upon an elderly Afro- American male. For those members who may not have seen this film 'clip' this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sn2eDyaq3mQ will allow you to make your own judgement about Michael's sweet disposition or otherwise.

That Video clip really puts a light on the issue Roger, and although its never a nice thing to hear about anyone's death by whatever means, but this to me shows justice for the action of that Police Officer!
They surely have a hard job, at times I wonder just how they carry on!
That young Michael ,was a really violent person, i can understand anyone having a barney for whatever reason, but to keep hitting and kicking and stomping in the face of that poor Man is really degradable if that is the correct word!
Absolutely disgusting! That other chummo of his too should be locked up !
What a world we live in at times!
I know a bit about the duties of a Cop, and its not always a bed of Roses, i don't think if they paid me Millions would I ever again be one!
Cheers

Re: The Tragedy of Life....and so it goes on!
When he states in his dissertion, " Divide and Conquer", shows he knows what he is talking about. That has been used many times in the past and is still being used especially in political circles. Is one reason why a trade union is so repellent to any government and always go out of their way to try and show in a bad light. Brings back memories of when first at sea, the dissention between Deck and Engine room, never saw in those days the ship owner trying to dispel, suited his purpose to having people on a ship arguing amongst themselves rather than arguing with him. I was in Baton Rouge in the 50"s loading rice, each hatch gang was always all black or all white, it was the way both sides wanted it. Have been unbeknown at the time in a Black bar in New York, and when they realized I was British was asked to leave rather than have my head bashed in. I have sailed with Americans who on the face of it are not very tolerant of their black brothers, these have been mainly from the Southern States however. So like others in different parts of the world are less tolerant. This also brings to mind successive British governments have been shoving down peoples necks about all living together in a peaceful manner, some of their advisors obviously forgot to mention the different religions which they still cant grasp. Trouble is that most politicians have never lived in a real world and most come from a privileged background. To my mind and has been there for years any western democracy is down by the head with too many politicians in any case, and a lot should be giving their P45s or whatever they get when they are sacked or redesigned or whatever they call it nowadays. Cheers JS

Its also very noticeable that the bystanders do nothing, the same *do nothing* abounds here, from just allowing yobs to disrupt generally . The law where no one , including teachers are allowed to touch these precious little objects, and they know it. I remember seeing footage of a guy being knocked down and robbed in an American city at the busiest time of day, and hundreds of people just walking round the victim, very sad KT

This is from a friend of mine in Virginia,...................

Subj: Police Officers being shot
Does anyone remember Detective Melvin Santiago? He was a Jersey City police officer who was shot to death just a month ago, on July 13th. Santiago was white. His killer, Lawrence Campbell, was black. Does anyone recall Obama appearing before national television and calling for justice for Officer Santiagos family? Does anyone recall Eric Holder rushing to Jersey City to see that justice was done?
How about Officer Jeffrey Westerfield? He was a Gary, Indiana police officer who was shot to death on July 6, 2014. Officer Westerfield was white, his killer, Carl LeEllis Blount, Jr. was black. where was Obama? Where was Holder?
Officer Perry Renn was an Indianapolis, Indiana police officer who was shot to death July 5, 2014, the day before Officer Westerfield was killed. Officer Renn was white. His killer, Major Davis, was black. I don't recall any mention by Obama about the untimely death of Officer Renn. and, I doubt that Eric Holder rushed to Indianapolis to make sure justice was served.
Vermillion Parish Deputy Sheriff Allen Bares was gunned down by two men June 23, 2014 in Louisiana. Deputy Bares was white. His two killers, Quintlan Richard and Baylon Taylor were black. was Obama outraged? Did Eric Holder rush to Louisiana to make sure that the family of Deputy Bares found justice?
Detective Charles Dinwiddie of the Killen, Texas Police Department was murdered on May 11, 2014 by Marvin Lewis Guy, a black male. Officer Dinwiddie was white. Do you recall seeing anything about that on the news? Certainly, the white citizens of Killeen didn't take to the streets to loot and burn businesses. Do you recall any mention of Obama or Holder here?
Then, there is Officer Kevin Jordan of Griffin, Georgia Police Department. He was gunned down on May 31, 2014. Officer Jordan was black, his killer, Michael Bowman was white. This was a white man murdering a black police officer. Where was Jesse Jackson? Where was "The Reverend" Al Sharpton? Was there looting and burning on the streets of Griffin, Georgia? No, in fact, we don't recall hearing about this one in the news as well. Why? You can draw your own conclusions.
Over the past 60 days, there have been five reported deaths of police officers by gunshot in the U.S. Of those, four were white officers who were murdered by black men. Blacks complain that white officers treat black men more aggressively on the street. You can draw your own conclusions on that one, as well.
A US President that tries to divide this republic, needed to be removed from office a long time ago.

Re: The Tragedy of Life....and so it goes on!
The whole trouble with the western world today. Too many cant be bothered and don't want to be involved in any problems arising from such. You only have to look at the turn out for the General Elections in the UK for the turn out. Through peoples indifference to what is going on. They are going to lose it when it is too late to do anything. Vote for who you think will be the best for the country, I know you don't have much choice but never be afraid of a newcomer to politics, he cant do any worse than his predecessors who have mainly made a big bollix of their time in power. It is the people who put some of these clowns in and is also in your power to take out at the ballot box. If the British people cant do a simple thing like that then all the immigrants are going to be running the country. The most disgraceful thing I have ever witnessed on TV was that soldier who was murdered in broad daylight in the streets of London with people all around. This incident is almost now forgotten, it should never be allowed to be forgotten. It should be a memorial and a point where the country says that is far enough and never will it happen again. Whenever I think of such it makes me mad that a bunch of scum can frighten people. JS

There are far too many PC, Stupid "dogooders" Human rights fanatics, cannot arrest anyone until they have killed. Then back out on the streets again within ten years. Hang the bersterds and bury their remains in Pig Manure.
We need a Great Dictator here who has the people and Nation at his heart.
Too many people vote for a party because their Dad voted for them and his dad before him. We get no where, we have to be more radical than just having Political Parties that only look after themselves. At the moment all the Politicians are the same , all bent. We need a Savior to save our country. All we have now are 650 corrupt gangsters disguised as MPs. filling their pockets. No interest in the Nation or its people.

Re: The Tragedy of Life....and so it goes on!
The war against extremanism has been going on for years now, and no actual safeguards have been made for the future. As the last world war the country was initially let down by the blind ineptness of politicians who turned a blind eye on any preparation, I can remember as a kid where the populance were going out and planting sharpened stakes and putting in the ground hoping they would be some sort of determent against airborne troops. There will be no need for such ineffectual last hopes in the next conflict the enemy is already there. If your own government doesn't recognize the dangers already there one can only hope they will be the first targets. JS
