    Default Cash and crash

We now find ourselves living in a fast changing world where modern technology is the way to go. Man has come a long way since he put men on the moon and wheels on suitcases.

There is much talk about driverless cars and not too far away, but to get there they must make some significant improvemenst to what we have so far.

A man here bought a new European car with Automatic Breaking System fitted. But as with all modern achievemenst things can and do go wrong. Ther he was driving along at about 70kph whem a breaking situation arose, but the automatic system did not function correctly. The result, a written off car and a man in hospital.

We are fast becoming a cashless society with more and more outlets making the customer use a card. Card only self service check outs in most stores now, one butcher on TV now refusing to take cash, card only, saying handling cash is unhygenic. You can now use yoiur smart phone to pay for goods ans to get money from the ATM.
But if we go cashless and there are no more notes how ill the Cocaine snorters cope?
    Happy daze John in Oz.

I always use cash I have not even got a credit card I did a few years ago? a bank emailed me saying my account was in question over amounts taken out the only thing is I never even had an account with that bank the email was genuine because I rang the main branch and spoke to the person that sent the email?? I told the nice lady if there is any money in the account she could keep it or give it to charity and shut the account down? the only time I dealt with a bank the account was in my wife's madden name and have not used it for three years.. don't trust a bank..jp

When I was on strike and sleeping in the church doorway on Park Lane in Liverpool that was a cashless society.

Just received renewal of my debit card. No PIN needed as more and more retailers are using contactless facilities at point of payment. Merely show the card to the scanner and job done. I asked my bank what might happen if i mislaid my card and it was found and used by someone else? Er- we're working on that. Oh dear.
