They say that education is the key to success so in my mind until we get a Government that is brave enough to stamp down on these so called woolly minded intellectuals that spout rubbish about how our children are taught we will always be breeding generations of children that have little or no idea of how they have come to live in such a tolerant country, nor how much this country has given to the rest of the world in all aspects of life, be it democracy, trade, the inventions that make our lives so pleasant etc. etc.
History as taught in schools seems to start around 100 yrs ago and no where is "Britishness" taught.
As a Christian country with a monarchy (like it or lump it, its here to stay) we should be following the USA where daily all children in schools swear allegiance to the flag and sing the national anthem. We are just far to tolerant even to the extent of funding from the tax payers pocket, schools where the edicts and life style of one particular religion, which is not native to this country, are allowed to be set up.
This has to stop immediately and a return to the teachings of and the methods of teaching of the post war years need to be introduced with albeit an allowance for the many varied cultures of present day Britain. Despite what some of us may think the post war generation has thrown up many great minds and inventions, DNA, http protocol, Concorde, Space travel depended in part on British inventions along with much more that you can think about. I just get the feeling that as our education system is churning out children who are way behind even the Koreans these days that we are going to be riding on the coat tails of the rest of the world instead of being at the head of it.
The flying of the Union flag and singing of hymns is a symbol of patriotism and a demonstration of pride in our country which will hopefully instil in our children values that they can take forward into later life that will give them tolerance to others whilst at the same time recognising the history and values that this country was built upon.
Phew!! that took some thinking so early in the day, off for more coffee now.

No, No, No we is full and our breeding programs are strictly for the sheep! But if Cappy can find one he likes, well we would not stand in his way, after all such a cross breed maybe of great interest to the indigenous population

Now if Cappy realy want to jump to it maybe then instead of chasing Emu's why not try a Roo. When he is truly satisfied he can crawl inside the littl pocket at the front for a snooze.

Thanks Roger for putting Bolton back on the map,
Just been away for the last six days,
I think the biggest objection will be from our Over Worked School Teachers. Taking time out from giving out free condoms, giving the five year olds lessons on homosexual activities and other alternative sexual deviations. Unbelievable that this is what is taught in school now so my granddaughters tell me, and this is a Church School, St James.
I guess this is more important than Maths, English, British History, Geography etc.
So I should imagine that Singing the National Anthem and raising the Flag will take ten minutes more of their very busy work loads.
and they wonder why Kids in other less fortunate nations are a lot better educated than our kids.
    I despair for our future.
    Brian
