As angela merkel said I shall never forget my first visit to London in the spring of 1990, very soon after the fall of the Berlin Wall and quite a few months before Germany’s reunification. My husband had been invited here by fellow scientists and I entered the Royal Institution for the very first time in my life.
We walked through Hyde Park looking for Speakers’ Corner, which – especially for us as East Germans – was legendary, the very symbol of free speech. I hope that is not an insult to you, the members of the British Parliament.
Afterwards, we went to a concert in the Royal Albert Hall. We were in a country in which people were rejoicing with us Germans about the collapse of socialism in Central and Eastern Europe and the fall of the Berlin Wall. It was a terrific trip.

We should be proud of our freedom and laud it , a lot of people do not have that

I have seen a lot of Rascism in your part of the world against the English. a fact that cannot be denied.

I had a friend who lived in LlanfairPG, a member of the Sons..who used to do that, also he used to drive all over North Wales painting out the English names on road signs. eg, Conway, paint it out and leave Conwy as if that would fool and English man. how bleddy daft.
He was a University Lecturer in Bangor.
He is no longer my friend.
In Welsh Speaking North Wales. I have been there many times, I went into a pub in Morfa Nevin, they all stopped speaking English and began speaking in Welsh, I had asked for a pint in English, I was ignored, I asked several times but was ignored, I asked again in Welsh and was served, they looked at me suspiciously as I was a stranger. This happened in many shops. until I answered them in Welsh. then they were shocked at their behaviour, My Grandmother was Welsh and I learned a lot of Welsh language from her.
I have not been to North Wales for 20 years so I do hope they have become a little more civilised.
When they start building Mosques all around Anglesey, when Arabic is the predominate language, not Welsh, start wondering what is going on.
One Day they will come.

Efion, I gather from your post that you think we should not debate immigration on this site.
There are many issues debated here that are not M.N. related. Members give their views openly and honestly, some you will agree with others you will not which is perfectly normal. The danger comes when people are denied a voice or think they cannot speak their mind. When there is a subject that has an effect on every person in the country we all have the right to express our opinions.

Well I don't know what kind of bubble you live in, I have Welsh friends and thank god they are not as dumb about what is happening around them as you seem to be. They of course can have their own language but we should not pander to all and sundry and spend millions on Govt literature in their multi languages or provide interpreters at our taxpayers expense, of which I am still one. When I lived in Pakistan and the Middle East I was subject to their laws and nothing was printed in English, anything I needed had to be translated at my expense, nor did I try and convert them to my religion and my Western way or life, nor did I break their laws or ignore them, nor did I have the opportunity to play the race card, or play the right to a family life if the occasion had ever arisen, nor was I able to claim benefits from their Govts, if I had no work I would have been deported without so much of a nod. I don't know of your worldly experiences or if you have ever lived outside of Angelsey but you have a jaundiced view of your fellow men, you must have been a real joy in the messroom

It would seem your sole purpose in posting in the forums is to cause as much discontent as you can, life must be bluddy boring and insular on the Isle of Anglsey if that is your sole entertainment, suggest you try crossing the bridge now and again and having a vacation in the areas that you think we should all be tolerant of, but on second thoughts, just get a life and if you are so tolerant well just invite them all over the bridge and let them build a few mosques and radicalise your children, then you can all be one big happy family and form a few welsh/mu slim fatwahs against the English, you have had practice in the past with our cottages, no star
