Seeing the terrible floods in Staines & Thames valley on TV lately reminded me of meeting someone famous there years ago (50s). Coffee bars were the newest trend about that time and pubs only opened strict time, so at 2,3o closing would go and view young chicks in the coffee bar near Staines Bridge. One day my younger brother was in the crowd there with some good looking birds. He intoduced me to nice brunette Catherine who said to me " Oh you are Jacks brother I always thought you were an Irishman as you had curly dark hair and were always drunk"...... Later her name filled the newspapers in a huge scandal Catherine Keeler and her mate Mandy and various high politicians.

William Wallace was born either Paisley Renfrewshire, or Ayrshire, Scotty was born in Linlithgow, West Lothian.
