I remember going to Haringey stadium to watch the circus a pantomime or an ice show. cannot ever remember a turkey until I got married and bought my own. every year we each got a smokers outfit and a stocking with fruit and nuts, but no clothes during the war, as apart from being hard to get we didn't have the coupons.

marian my love?. a smokers outfit was a box containing chocolate cigars. cigarettes, a licorice pipe with red bits to represent fire a hard jelly ashtray and sometimes a little packet containing a brown sweet stringy stuff to represent tobacco. the delux edition had a set of scales made of metal
