East Bolden my aunt has a house there during the 40's and 50's her house in Langham Road was just opposite the entrance to a spot called the Hawthorns. Spent many a summer holliday there oved to watch the trains puffing along just across the back paddocks from her place.

Re: Where did you say?
That's the one Alf. Off Punchbowl Road, 45 Elliott Street, Enfield.
My late cousin Harry Illingworth lived next door and we often went there over the years as kids. Harry's Yorkshire dad worked as a toolmaker and made Harry a super duper billy cart with those little metal ball bearing wheels. We would go up the hill to the Bellfield's Pub and Harry, who wore coke bottle bottom glasses, would hold the reins I would run behind an jump in when we had a good head of steam. In the 30's and 40s there was not many around and those who were knew Harry couldn't see properly and reacted accordingly when they heard the and rush and the click-clack on the concrete joints.
You probably remember the old toast rack trams of the time with the conductor clinging on for dear life as he walked the footboard. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enfield..._Wales#History
