Hi Jim,born in Bianca Street,Bootle,Four Brother' befor me born in Liverpool,when I was Six month's old me mam, left and went to live in Kirby Road Bootle,then me mam had Two more Son's and Two Daughter's, that was Nine of us in a Council House,plus me Mam and Dad who was in the Merchant Navy all his life.My Mam never got us Know Evacuation during the War she stayed with in the house and Air Raid Shelter, the house's facing were brought down.Anyway my Brother Alex,still live's in the same,he was in the Merchant Navy for Forty One Year's Engine Room,and Deck,call to see him once Week.Ken.R634898.

Yes Ken you lived just around the corner from the housing office where Miss Scattergood reigned.I was lucky I never had to use the place i was living in a bedsit what a dump the best incentive ever to work your b***s off to get out of such a place.Sailed on a King boat that was in a right mess,it had tobe brought upto scratch to go over to Clan Line.Plenty of overtime so much so i was able to put £50. deposit on a little two up and two down,happy days!!!

Hi Jim,I remember Miss Scattergood,it was in Fernhill Road,facing the Aintree Pub,I was on the housing (Bootle)list for over five year's.The Wife and I lived in Flat's in Dingle and Anfield,got this house Forty Six year's ago,near Liverpool football ground.Still A Bootle Lad and Pround.Ken.

Born Kirk Street bootle, Moved to Church St bombed out thrre houses one after the other moved to Belton Road Huyton 1942,moved back to Bootle near wars end,Stayed with relatives for twelve months seven in one room,Then Dad found a house to rent in Bedford road,just up from subway,was there till 63 then moved to Clifton walk stayed with sister and family, till backed out in Aukland N.Z. 69,then over to Oz.been here since.

East Bolden my aunt has a house there during the 40's and 50's her house in Langham Road was just opposite the entrance to a spot called the Hawthorns. Spent many a summer holliday there oved to watch the trains puffing along just across the back paddocks from her place.

Hi Charlie,had many a pint in the Bedford around 59/60 my mate had a guitar and an amp we used to go there and have a good sing song.Was there an African Grey parrot on the end off the bar there?

My late cousin Harry Illingworth lived next door and we often went there over the years as kids. Harry's Yorkshire dad worked as a toolmaker and made Harry a super duper billy cart with those little metal ball bearing wheels. We would go up the hill to the Bellfield's Pub and Harry, who wore coke bottle bottom glasses, would hold the reins I would run behind an jump in when we had a good head of steam. In the 30's and 40s there was not many around and those who were knew Harry couldn't see properly and reacted accordingly when they heard the and rush and the click-clack on the concrete joints.

hi richard. yes i remember the trams. i was in george street sydney when a double tram came off the tracks and went into one of the shops, its ok, it missed me. my cousins name was hoare io think. can't remember the street he lived long time ago. i had a beut cart with ball bearing pram wheels, a large ball race on the steering and pride of joy two acetelene lamps off an old horse cart.
