Hmmmmmmm. so apparently all you guys never went to sea, as said before all these postings are defeating the object of the exercise and probably frightening off the non-seafarers, who may sense that we apparently have a low opinion of them. Personally think all but number one post should be deleted to let the actual non seafarers have THEIR say. Probably get shot down for this post but eh! oh!

Re: Non seafarers, tell us what you think.
This thread had some potential, or so I thought, but once again it didn't take the 'demolition squad' very long to see that off, did it? Sometimes, the level of disregard shown by members towards the author of a thread... beggars belief! Before a thread subject has a chance to progress, some are quite happy to alter course 90 degrees and start talking about the price of fish. The interchange between members then drifts away from the original subject until, eventually, it is totally forgotten about, lost in the mist of disinterest (another victim of forum indiscipline and rudeness). Never mind the poor bu--er who took the time and effort to post it, eh? It can be equally frustrating for those who might be interested in the original topic. As I've been reminded in the past, it's always been this way, so suck it in and enjoy because nothing is going to change it. I find that bl--dy sad.

Re: Non seafarers, tell us what you think.
I must tend to agree with what Roger has posted here, there does of late seem to be a trend for Posts to be steered off course and this I know is something that we have had for quite some time.
There have been discussions in he past on this very Subject and for a while things seemed t go well, but it seems that once again it has crept in!
Now there is absolutely no Malice at all meant here, but may I with respect ask that we all try in the future to stick to the originators Subject Post!
I must admit to being one who has strayed off course at times, and will try in the future to be more on course.
Now what say you all to me deleting the off course posts here and start anew!??
Thank You
Cheers
Doc (Thanks Roger)

As I said before Doc, delete all except #1 and lets see what happens, I think being grown men we could live with that, and anyone who cannot get out your hanky and dry your eyes.

#19 Will be surprised if you have many takers, i.e. non seafarers replying to, but one never knows worth a try even to get others views. Cheers John Sabourn
