Re: Medical Science Headlines.
why not give people with a one way trip try out the new drugs since they have nothing to lose? stem cell is one of the more things to investigate a lot more but as usual the pc brigade put the boot in? this is not said in any bad way and although I don't and never liked the thought but after the war it was the german doctors that leaded a lot of medical procedures could this be due to the death camps?

Re: Medical Science Headlines.
They may do better using politicians for their experiments, most have little or no brain so would not feel any pain. HD John
.
. I agree with that John.
Why not transplant the mices brain into the politicians, it may make them more intelligent.
cheers

Re: Medical Science Headlines.
Talking of Alzheimers what about this story today of an 88 year old lady suffering from Dementia. She was discharged from hostpital and taken home by the paramedics,at the address an old man opened the door and showed them in.the paramedics tucked her up in bed and went on their way. Some hours later the womans son is wondering where his mother is and contacts the hostpital, she had been sent home he was told but she had not arrived at the care home where she was resident. The son contacted neighbours at her previous address which she had only left in May,neighbours called at her previous address and a confused old man opened the door, they found the old woman tucked up in the old mans bed!!!The son contacted the hostpital who in turn contacted the police who went and picked the old lady up and returned her to the care home.It sounds to me like the old man who let them into his home needs help and should be in care also.It doesn't bear thinking about what could've happened to this old lady. It's like a TV script.

Re: Medical Science Headlines.
My brother, ex seafarer, 83, In February, His wife got rid of him and got him in a "Care" Home, after he had been in hospital with a heart scare. He thought he was going in for two weeks rest and recuperation., she told them a load of Lies about his behaviour, and we cannot get him out. He was in for over a week before any of his family found out. His Wife is backed by law. It is his second wife, an evil bitch. We went to visit him a few times, he was confused as to why he cannot go home. I have taken photos of him, he was a Big man, bigger and stronger than me, now he is down to 7 stone. he refused to eat as a protest at being locked up. We, His four sons and daughter, his four brothers and sisters, his grand children have been Banned from visiting him, on orders from his wife and the "Care" home. The conditions in there are horrendous. Ten men are locked in a small room all day, just sat there staring at a wall, just a small tiny window at one end. In the heat wave we had in the summer, it was so hot, the staff were complaining. we tried to take him out, But no, he might escape and go home. so he sat there day after day. I told them he was going to get a DVT, I wrote to the CQC about it, nothing was done.
His eldest son and I went to visit, He is not here , they said, Then where is he, ? He is in hospital, he had a DVD and a clot on his lung.. How long has he been in. Two days., Why didn't you phone me? said his son. You are not on the phone list . they say, because his wife has said you are Not to go on it. After a few days he was sent back to the "Care" home.
We had a meeting with the Social Services at their Office in Blackpool.
Two from the "Care" Home. and three Social Services people, It was all screwed and glued before we got there. The Home said we were all barred from the Home and cannot visit, His bitch of a wife said she did not want any of his family going to see him. So that was the final outcome. no one has seen him since the 1st of August, We do not know if he is alive or dead. I have sent three letters to the Home and Social Services, they do not answer. My nephews, his sons and my sisters have also written several times to the home and to Social Services. They do not answer. In law the wife has Total control. we cannot fight it . we cannot do anything about it.
I have also seen Age Concern, No chance. Then CAB , a print out says , Chapter 8 of the Human Rights for patients in Care homes says they should not be denied visits from family.
We are still working on it. it is still on going. very complicated. we are investigating every avenue.l
If he had murdered her and gone to Ashworth with Ian Brady, he would now be living in lovely surroundings with anything he wants, no questions.
Makes you wonder.
Brian.

Re: Medical Science Headlines.
Try writing to the press Brian. Just maybe you might find one of them with enough gumption to write what people should be reading and know about. Or even put in the paper what you have written here. I would have thought at least his blood relatives would have been able to see and report on his condition, his wife is not a blood relative, a marriage licence nowadays cannot mean too much to the general populence when they allow same sex marriages, what a farce, Regards John Sabourn

Re: Medical Science Headlines.
Another diabolical thing about that is....
At the meeting, they read a list of all his ailments. One being a Fractured Vertebrae in his spine.
His wife`s 16 year old daughter had a baby, it was going to be adopted. She persuaded him to adopt it.
Now he is 25 years old. He became a drug dealer, Brother threw him out of the house, his wife always brought him back in. He attacked him on several occasions and then one time he knocked him down and was in so much pain he could not get up. His loving caring wife just threw a duvet over him and went to bed leaving him on the floor.
What a bitch.
This violent Drug Dealer is allowed to visit him, he is on the Phone list. I have told the Care Home about this, makes no difference the only visitors allowed are the ones nominated by the Wife. Can you imagine the horror of a fragile old man when his attacker comes to visit??
As I say we are still working on this. We have to take it easy and tread softly for so long then the crap is going to hit the fan.
Brian

Perhaps Jim, that 'old man' wasn't as out of it as reported. Perhaps he saw an opportunity for a bit of company in bed- better than a hot water bottle and the nights ARE getting a bit chilly now.
