Slavery trade compo case.
Britain is being sued for what could be hundreds of billions of pounds in reparations for slavery. An alliance of 14 Caribean nations wants compensation for the trade they say condemned the region to poverty 175 years ago.The Caricom group have hired a British law firm to fight their cause.Britain has rejected reparations in the past but Ralph Gonsalves PM of St.Vincent and the Grenadines said slavery is a "historic wrong that has tobe righted for the benefit of all people.
Regards.

In that case may consider suing the British Shipowner for my sleep apbnia , slave wages and non nutrious and shortage of food and dangerous conditions of work 60 odd years ago. What a load of old baloney. What do some of them know about history, do they know the history of the uk, civil wars and revolutionary uprisings to finally get to some sort of decent standard of living, men lost in 2 great world wars for what they thought was to be a better way of life. Thrown away by politicians of all parties and all the bums and stiffs of the world wanting a part of the uks advancement without paying any price whatsoever. Would tell them to get a job or get lost preferably back in their own countries. John Sabourn PS or go and sue some of the Arabic nations where slavery is still practised. JS

Re: Slavery trade compo case.
What the hell are they complaining about???
It did them a favour, we should charge them for the passage from West Africa to the West Indies, and for the many Seafarers who last their lives with diseases, malaria, Yellow fever, cholera, black water fever, etc. etc.. "Beware the Bight of Benin, many white men go in, very few come out. ".
There are no slaves left alive now , Dead men cannot sue.
And if I was one of them I sure as hell would rather live in Barbados than Nigeria. We did them a BIG Favour.
This "Historic wrong , has been Righted," It was Britain who abolished the Slave trade.
Why don't they Sue the Coastal Tribes who went inland and sold the Inland tribes to the Traders. They were just as guilty if not more so.
I get fed up of these whinging whining Bersterds who are always trying to scrounge more money off us.
They get Aid of Millions of pounds every year off us. The West Indies Region gets over 93 Million off us.
They are just a load of Bums.
If they don't like it Then we could always ship them all back to Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, That would be cheaper, then they would still be whinging.
Cheers
Brian

It was wrong, Jim but where does it stop. Take Spain and South America for example. Italy of Roman times. How would the aborigines of Australia be faring now if this Continent were to have been occupied by all those who were sniffing around at the time of Capt James Cook. Etc,etc.

The Americans in a roundabout way started that off with Liberia, it didn't take them long to revert to type. I have always said as the present wars on the African continent occur more frequently than ever now, let them get on with it. Let them fight for their own beliefs, they do not adhere to our way of life. Let them go through what most countries have done in the past. They should maybe learn something from their own history. Re: Slavery trade compo case.
Hi shipmates, How come all this legal action is about the wrong doing of the British empire? Were we the only ones who were There? The Mau Mau of Kenya killed many white people and nuns, and eat they liver as part of an oath, so I was told by a teacher in my school he shot and killed, some of them who were attacking a mission, Do the U.K pay out anyone who said we done anything to harm them? what a scam !!!!
