    I onnce went to springbok but I thought it had anothername then spoke to some of the lads there agood bunch left a small donation perhaps the the property developers realise that soon well have no ex seamen left and the land in that part of the country istop dollar to buy they can get areal deal how low can these people go a daschund perhaps regards cappy

    Someone posted a list of Trustees of the Merchant Navy War Memorial Fund , last year . I cannot remember but think that only two on te committee were ex seafarers , If so how and when do these guys get elected , Is it an election done because no-one is interested , If so when it disappears we will only have ourselves to blame . So who i eligible to vote these guys in and who is eligible to stand

    Any intentions would be to see fair play for the springboksailors home but how to go about this i know not iwould not like to see preditors hovering as has been a possbilty suggested but as to the means of protecting this i would not know were to start perhaps you could suggest or mr prescot could be harnessed into the scene but alas i think i would find it impossible to work with his lordship regards jim cappy

    cappy as regards Mr prescott he forgets where he came from and doesn't know where he is going he is a lord now he would not get his hands dirty unless its for mega money ?just my view jp

    Yes john i think that is about the size o mr p now butas i said i have visited the springbok and its spot on and surely needed for these ex mn personel iwould be involved in any situation which would help as going to sea made me understand the meaning of friendship comradeship and to know you looked after your shipmate and knew the same was returned pity the world has changed so much regards cappy

    cappy even though some of us will never meet we would still empty our pockets for each other and have done many times a hot date ashore you always had money in your pocket even if you were skint an hour before?jp

    My thoughts were who and how are the trustees , who seem to be mainly RMT non seafarers elected , does anyone know
