hi John,
Don't know where you live but it is not illegal to burn wood in the UK. Burning of wood doesn't count towards C02 emmissions.
Countless people where I live burn wood, in fact there is nothing to beat the odour from burning wood.

John S, your brother should be OK if he is paying the rent himself and it is not being paid by way of benefits.Also they have no intention at the moment of deducting or telling pensioners to downsize.

John,woodburners are advertised every night in the Liverpool Echo,my neighbour has a coal fire but I think once you see the price of a cwt of coal today you will stick to your gas and lecky.

john were i live in Liverpool it is a smokeless zone and a hefty fine goes with it wood burners are OK to warm one room and houses now are built without chimneys or fire places shame but true.jp

I know we all ahte the concept of more taxes, but since cocky was in the egg govs of all persuasions have been doing it. The modern day waorld is one where we all want the best, we all want the gov to provide all the services, but they cost money and the only way to get more is to find new taxes.

john s . wood burners i can't say but fuel that gives of a lot of smoke is a no no in Seton Liverpool and yet i live right by the container terminal and ships departing the dock well that's another thing there is when the diesels start up? how i know i renovated a house in our area and we had fire going in the fire places in the house to dry the rooms out as it had been empty for a few years only wood from old door frames and the like within an hour we had a visit from the council environment dept.jp
