    Default FERAL ELECTION

Yesterday our less than illustrious Prime Minister, Gillard the goose, announced that a general election will be held on Septemer 14th some 227 days hence. A long time to go and many wonder why such an early call.

But another piece fell into place as one, ex Labor MP still in parliament as an independent, has been arrested on fraud charges dating to his days as a Union Secretary.
But wait there is more. The Atouney General had announced a new bill for a law that would in effect limit free speech. There has over the past wto years been some unfavourable commenst in the media about the current gov which they did not like. The law were it to come into being would see anyone who said, 'I do not like this law' charged with breaking it. Apparently now the election has been called there will be insufficient time to debate it so it may not come into being.

What is going on around the world just now? The general political situation is falling apart in so many countries, are the politicians loosing the plot, though I fear some never read the script, or is there some other reason? Are there dark forces out there attempting to take over, or am I being a bit cynical?
    Happy daze John in Oz.

No your not being Cynical John, I dont trust either of them, when youve only got two partys , thers not much of a choice either way, Id rather have a fiver each way on some Tesco Burgers.
Dont be surprised if we get a second hung Parliament with Abbot having to Negotiate on every decision as well this time.

Truly wooly both partys havent got much going for them.

    Default Stop Press

Today has been announced that the MP accused of misbehaviour as regards others money has been arrested on I think about 126 seperate charges. As these are still to be proved in a court of Law it does however show that the police think they have a good case against him. He has sat in Parliament for months assisting for what its worth in the running of this great country. Most decent and honourable men or women, I would have thought would have stood themselves down while this sorry saga was being played out. It does show however to most who still have an undying faith in some of our leaders that their faith in a lot of cases is misplaced. To make it worse to some of us this man is a so called ex. union leader. Cheers John Sabourn PS Sorry John just read your post properly and seen you have already covered. Cheers JS

    Default Heads of State

Regretably it would appear that once elected to Office, most heads of State be they Prime Minister or President have come to the conclusion that only .........they.......... know best and it is a question of ........Do as I say and not as I do........the people who elected them are totally ignored, in fact they become Dictators although they do not see themselves as such.

Most politicians acquiese to their leaders dictats, not because they agree with them but to protect their pensions. It is happening in all countries and perhaps irreversible, the longer the situation remains the harder it is to reverse and it would appear that the young are happy with the situation because they have known nothing else. We oldies may spout about ..........Come the Revolution.............but I'm afraid that will never happen, the only things surer than death these days are taxes and eventual Shariah Law because that is what our nation is sleep walking into through complacency.

Bob Katter could very well secure those Balance of Seats required for Govt, as Ive said before we havent got anyone of substance in Parliament at all in the Major Partys.
Your dead right about Sharia law, and the robed Leaders who are waiting in the Background.

It could be a split vote with Katter running ahead of the Greens this time. all the best , Glenn

John it appears that on one side we have a bunch of ex union leaders and I suspect more than one of them corrupt. On the other side a bunch of ex lawyers, and as we know 99% of lawyers give the rest a bad name. The trough gets bigger, the snouts longer and it is question now of 'we know what is best for you'. Well you actualy know stuff all because it is only me who knows what is best for me.

What worries me is if and when we ever get to see the true treasury figures, I think people will really start to feel depressed. We have the Goose as you say and her partner the Swan, birds of a feather as the saying goes should stick together, hopefully they will and sink. Cheers John Sabourn

Congratulations !!! Glenn, your view of the political scene here in Oz is even more jaundiced than my own ( and that takes some doing, I might add).

As for the 'Greens' here in Oz, I can't help but feel that any credibility they may have had has now all but gone. IMO most Australians now recognise them for what they truly are, a disparate group of die-hard communists, gong-beating exponents of an alternative lifestyle that, if allowed to come to fruition, would drag us all back to the middle ages. Although one might be forgiven for thinking otherwise, to be a member of the Australian Greens it is not compulsory to be an exponent of an 'alternative' sexual persuasion. No doubt, within their ranks, there are those who hold genuine fears for the future of this planet and who try to educate the rest of us without resorting to 'rat-baggery' and acts of wanton destruction. Unfortunately, the 'moderates' find themselves in direct confrontation to other groups within the party who have agendas of their own, some of which are far-removed from the noble endeavour of saving mankind from self-destruction. Due to the divisive Parliamentary performance of the 'Greens' during the past two years (where they have enjoyed a position of power out of all proportion to their number), I think that public support is far less robust than it once might have been. At the next federal election in September, 2013, they will, I think, cease to be a political party of any real significance and, if not careful, could find themselves on the slippery slope to oblivion. When Julia Gillard chose to get into bed with the Greens in order to satisfy an unquenchable lust for personal power (to secure her position as Prime Minister), she did so with total disregard for the best interests of the Australian people. It is a burden of shame she will be left to carry for the rest of her life.
This woman of doubtful integrity has been a blight on the political scene here in Australia. The sooner we are rid of her, the better.

I have little time for politicians, most of whom I regard as self-seeking opportunists, but think, perhaps, Tony Abbot might just shade 'Mother Goose' in the credibility stakes .......for those of us 'down under', I certainly hope so.

    ...............................Roger.

p.s. Re Sharia Law in Oz ?...I don't think so, mate. Aussies are laid back, I know, but not so bl--dy laid back they would allow themselves to become prey to fundamental lunacy.

Today the scene gets even worse if that is possible. As you may recall we have a Labor politician here up on fraud charges, he is an ex Union secretary.
His lawyer complains that his client was strip searched when arrested, common practice for all apprehended and charged. Obviously he considers his client to be different, and as he is a politician then maybe he has a point.
But then the best of all, according to him his client can not be in court while parliament is sitting, his trial must take place during the recess. Excuse me but when did the law have different standards for politicians, oh but of course silly me they write the laws.
Our laws here in Oz normaly track the ones of UK, so it may well be that any politician charged there may come under the same rulling.
If this lawyer has his facts correct then I consider it a breach of civil rights for any alleged criminal to be given different treatment just because they are politicians. For my part I would make it harder for them as they are reputed, well so they say, to represent the people!!!
    Happy daze John in Oz.

It occured to me today that the date for the dissolution of our current feral parliament is August 12th.
In the UK it is known as the glorious 12th, the day the Pheasant shooting season begins, the day the Pheasant pluckers begin their tasks.
No doubt the pleasant f******s here will hope they can shoot Gillard the Goose and the ugly duckling out of office.
