    Default Horse Meat Whopper:

"Great Food Comes First" is one of the proud slogans Burger King displays on its website. However, a portion of its 11 million daily customers are finding out that they have been consuming horse meat Whopper Jr's. On Jan. 31, Burger King admitted that its European suppliers provided burger patties with small traces of horse meat to British customers.

Burger King's admission is a 180-degree turnaround from the company's initial denial earlier this month when reports first surfaced that meat suppliers had mixed cattle beef with equine (horse) meat. Horse meat was found in.

You should try their Quarter Pandas.’

    A little bit mare:

I got fired from the meat factory because I got an e-mail about a delivery of horse meat and I marked it as spam:

    And:

‘I selected some burgers on the Tesco website… I then clicked on “add to cart”.’

Some years ago I recall a compnay selling frozen food that went by the name of FINDUS
We often laughed and called it FIND US Findus the fishermen.
Well according to the latest news it may well be that it will now FIND US the winner of the Grand National if the story about horse meat in Lasagne is correct.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

    Default Horse Flesh Butcher

In 1921 This shop was owned by 1921 By one William Conway, horse flesh butcher. The address was No 20 George Street London

The 1889 Horse Flesh Act decreed On and after the 29th September 1889, it will be unlawful for any one to sell, offer, expose, or keep for sale any horse-flesh for human food elsewhere than in a shop, stall, or place, over or upon which there shall be at all times painted, posted, or placed, in legible characters of not less than four inches in length, and in a conspicuous position, and so as to be visible throughout the whole time, whether by night or day, during which such horse-flesh is being offered for sale, words indicating that horse-flesh is sold there.
And no one is to supply horse-flesh for human food, to any purchaser who has asked to be supplied with some meat other than horse-flesh, or with some compound article of food which is not ordinarily made of horse-flesh. For the purposes of the Act, the term 'horse-flesh' is to include the flesh of asses and mules, and shall mean horse-flesh, cooked or uncooked, alone, or accompanied by, or mixed with any other substance.

Amazing what pops up when you are looking for something totally unrelated.

    Default Halal:

    Most meat now is Halal:

    Apart from current additives.

Many caterers have rather than buy small amounts and cook and serve seperatey to save offence.

Have taken to just buying and serving halal to all, without telling you !
