In the round of the new benifit cuts by the government, I was wondering how many of our MPs and or spouses will lose their Child Benifit Allowance.

I can not believe my eyes,
Just five minutes ago, I saw on the TV News, a big fat woman, staggering into her kitchen and sitting down gasping, and weeping for the camera, " I dont know how I can manage, How can I survive with all these Benefit Cuts,"
On the Bulkhead behind her on the tiles above the work top was a Pub Optics with two bottles of whisky upside down on them, and a full Decanter stood next to it.
I have never seen that in anyones house before.
and the fat slob was whinging. People like that give the Genuine cases a bad name.

On TV News last night showed a school in Blackpool that had started to give kids a breakfast before school started.
One little girl was asked what did she have at home for breakfast, she said " A slice of toast and I dont like it." A packet of Weetabix in Saisburys Store costs £ 3 for 36, at two weetabix a day for breakfast that little girl could have a decent breakfast for 20p a day.the Mother gets around £20 a week for the first child and nearly £14 a week for the other children, and they cannot feed their kids????
Find out how many fags these women smoke, £7.50 a packet. How much ale does the Father drink??
Then deduct that from their benefits.
I have said it before, my Dad brought up five of us kids without one penny off the Sate, or Tax payer, there was none. and we survived,
How many flat screen TVs do these people have, all got mobile phones, bet all the kids have Ipods and Xboxes etc.

Waiting for the Abuse, I am not getting on about Genuine cases of invalidity, I see it all around me in my once lovely avenue seeing the system being abused by fit healthy people, `****` next door , never ever worked in England, two cars , one a Mercedes, wife is his carer, gets paid, for it, he laughs at me,` get a bad back like me , he says, plenty of money,`get one benefit it opens the door to dozens of other Benefits,
Three brothers live across the street from me, I can see into their house, it was their parents hous. so they got it free, they have Never worked, in their 40s, eldest is "disabled" ? the second one is his Carer, none of them married, gets paid for it, the youngest one has just joined them his wife had thrown him out , . All three live there on Benefits, All fit to work but have never worked I have known then since they were born went to school with my two lads, They are laughing at us all with what they get between them .

Sorry Jim, I meant Blackpool but it must have been a typo, or a Senior moment.
Blackpool really is a trrible place, not all seaside and fun. and I really do love Liverpool and never ever run it down. I was brought up there so I have my loyalty.

Capt. Kong is the pension scheme in UK not wealth-assett tested? How could an MP get it if so? If not guess they just feel it is theoir entitlement? Am entitled to an Aus pension but so far have not applied for it as feel not appropriate for me to do so, but reckon Gov't would not give any thanks....to the likes of me. Not that I seek them. Oh love the booz in background, strange no one on TV commented at this. Richard

Richard, there is a State pension to which everyone is entitled once they have reached the appropriate age. The Govt is trying to change that to a 'means tested' old age pension. If this takes off it means those of us who worked all our lives, (in my own case over 60 years) paid our dues, never got anything off the State and have the audacity to have a few bob in the Bank, and believe me it doesn't have to be much, will continue to subsidise those scroungers who have never worked. Some families have three or more generations who have never worked and some are grandparents in their early thirties. These professional layabouts will also receive additional benefits, as they do now, that will take their household earnings above what a working man can achieve, in addition they will receive housing benefit and rates exemption, free dental health (which most of us have to pay for), spectacles etc.

I get my State pension taxed because I was conned into taking out GPF (Graduated Pension Fund) contributions when I was at sea, it netts me just over £5 per month, which puts me into another tax bracket which means I pay tax on my meagre (and it is) State pension. Workers/Honest people cannot win, nor can they get additional benefits if they have a couple of grand in the Bank, as any benefits you 'may' be entiled to are reduce for every £1000 or pro rata you have in the Bank. So any money you have saved for emergency roof repairs works against you.

You must be in a fortunate position if you do not need to apply for the pension you are entitled to. Would it not be prudent to draw it whilst you can and save it for a rainy day, because even successful businesses can turn round and bite you in the ar*e at the most unexpected times and leave you shipwrecked. However you know your own circumstances best and my apologies if I have overstepped the mark. Alternatively you could consider drawing it and sending it to Brian to keep this site going

Ivan one thing I shall always remember in regards gov't waste in Aus when we had our biz there was the following repeated to me by the GM after he was told by a site manager. Ethnic party applies for a job with us, he is interviewed then asked if he is interested in the job? " Yes" he says is then told what the wages package were etc his response was "no I could not take that as I have five children & get almost that on social security per week & don't have to pay for travel." What does one say? As to pensions & having worked hard taken risks if in own biz etc well the gov't is not interested they will put all types of obstacles in the applicants way. You know the Aus gov't a few years ago came up with this hilarious scheme to woo voters as an election was looming. It was that they would pay a two off payment to all who had paid tax, the payment was of X$ & just for being nice as the budget was in surplus. Well they did & it was not insubstantial either, anyway they also paid all these immigrants who had gone back to their homelands on Aus pensions too, even seriously some back packers. There were some very funny letters to the editors from some of the latter about it. Oh another was they paid people to go off & have a baby I think is was AU$6,000, with no strings. Mind blowing just beyond belief! Richard.
