My take on the demise of the Labour party. Paul Keating was the last PM that they had who would not let the back room boys rule the party. He saw that they where gaining strength and starting to take over the caucus room. Hence when he went to the next election he ran a very weak campaign that gave us the Howard era. State Labour is even a worse basket case hence them being routed out at nearly every state election now. I admit that I was a member of the local Labour Party branch and pulled the plug many years ago in discuss of the way control was being wrested out of the hands of members and run purely to the whims of the few. It does the old heart good to see some of them standing before royal commission and exposed for what they did and are still trying to do. Trouble is the corruption is so firmly implanted within that it has moved to other party's as they to want a slice of the cake. As for elections crap we have been getting it dished out since the last election by the bucket load and next year it will be ramped up as we prepare to vote for the most least liked party leader out of the whole fecking lot. No wonder the majority of people feel cheated. Seeing as the UK is in a similar situation with a hung parliment daresay that you to are being inundated with BS since the election. I do firmly believe the old saying. The party in power is only as strong as the opposing party is strong. With us it is like watching two kids at kindergarten fighting over the sand pit. Just wish that they would get a place together and do it to each other instead of doing it to the whole fecking country.
That's the way the mop flops.
