Surely there could be a system where if you are taken on benifits and dispute it then they should provide you with a letter or get in touch with the relevant departments that all payments to you have been suspended and that any payments from yourself to them will also be suspended until the matter is resolved whereby they will upon sucessful settlement pay all back pay to you minus monies owing to the relevant departments. Even that is not much use if you are not getting any money for food but at least it would take the threat of being taken to court over none payments out of the equassion. Of course if you where to loose the case of non payment then you would be up for the bloody lot but then you would have been anyway. Just that they are all government bodies but have a past history of not letting each other know what is happening. Does this sound to logical.
That's the way the mop flops.

In this area the C A B has been closed a few years but they are now asking us to be charitable and donate funds to open the place up not sure where it will open up they sold off the building along with the library and a council office

We do have a great town center play area for the kids its got that rubber floor in places no swings slides or roundabout as they are deemed dangerous but at least if they do fall over its got rubber floors

After car crashed into my parked vehicle in 1995 and I got £600 Whiplash for a very painful neck , I was blessed by having private medical insurance as a perk of work . A consultant neurologist found in 2001 that I had a displaced vertebra , and I had an 8 hour operation to slice a lump out of it with a mini angle grinder . I had six weeks off work to recover , the only time I lost for sickness in forty three years of working . The damage had been done and I applied for and got a Blue Badge , I have a permanent limp and it can hurt like hell , to the point here standing and walking is not pleasant . On a good day , the warmer dryer weather helps , I can walk six miles around a golf course , the small hills are not easy , on a bad day ten yards across the garden is hard to do . If I went to an ATOS , I know I would fail there criteria and be pronounced fit to work .

I took my pension early , and that small pension prevents me getting any benefit for being unemployed , I have the pension , so get on with what I have . I watch little television , but the populous believe hat they see , amplified by what I believe are referred to as the "Red Top "newspapers . The Gallaghers portrayed as Shameless have given teh world at large an opinion that here are areas where they are a majority , the Family of Mrs Bucket in Keeping Up appearances , with the hopeless future all fuel public opinion . These comedy shows , the factual Saints and Sinners shows , all give out an impression of a sub culture of Faking it .

I would rather pay one faker than have one genuine applicant refused , I would rather have the fakers sorted out though , I think the ATOS system is over complicated , It , to my mind was a knee jerk reaction by the coalition within a few months of taking office to appease the masses , the Sun readers , the moaners , ( Me included ) , the people who watch Jeremy Kyle drag up another Woman from God knows where who slept with ten blokes that night and knows which one the Father really is .We are like the people that Vespasian gave beer and bread to at the Coliseum we en mass will bay for blood . Once you complicate a system , starting with a questionnaire with multiple choices and tick boxes , firstly you confuse most people , again Me included . Secondly you don't allow that the genuine majority of people , proud , independent despite any less than able bodied problems , will be the ones that make the mistakes . I know personally a family who gets every help in the world , deservedly , and the Social Worker has to fill their forms in , without that help they would be stuffed .

There are targets to fulfil there has to be because there are bonus schemes . What worries me , If you take the case that a young debt laden medical graduate is assessing you and knows the target will he be honest and not let the financial advantages of rejecting a claim or two to help his pay structure happen . I doubt that . We live in a world where honesty has slipped away , and in the case of ATOS , I truly believe that the system is weighted against the honest deserving person .

But ... there has to be a but ... I hate paying Taxes to support the Idle , I live next to a large estate , where a minority get up at 3 PM , play X-Box games all night throw their litter everywhere , lounge around in the pub all day , which i cannot afford to do ( I am a bit jealous of that one ) and smoke skunk . It is smoking he skunk that gives them the personality disorder that makes them unemployable , and they have disability cars , extra payments for carers etc.., and they seem to me to know how to beat the system .

I believe that the system is weighted against the honest genuine man , but like so many other issues , I do not have an answer , and I do agree with your comment unreservedly and absolutely , I was thinking if the government introduced lie detector tests I would oppose them , They don't seem to work n the Jeremy Kyle show all the time .

Rob it is still the same old story every time. No matter what system is being ripped of the public will bring it to their attention then the pollies look at the voting possibilities for that area. Result they throw more money to that department to throw out the net to catch the cheats to appease the populace. The only problem is it that the cheats are one step ahead of them and do not get caught and the department has to show that they have stopped a percentage of claiments even if it is the honest ones that they stop payments to. End result is those in need get stuff all and those that are ripping the system of are thumbing their noses at futile attempts to stop them.

RLT you are so lucky over there mate. Here once you are declared type two diabetic you will be lucky if they point out where the closest optician is let alone pay for it. Had to laugh about the fourth pair of black glasses you got mate. They are called sun glasses but can understand why they would be a novelty over there. LOL

Politicians do nothing when it comes to the crunch. Yes they will promise you the earth the give you a bucket of dirt. Where I live was a safe Labor seat, then after the last election boundries re-drawn so now we are in a marginal seat. Had a number of polis in the last few weeks in and around the shopping centre telling us how good they are. Last week the 'ugly duckling' our treasurer came knocking, no doubt looking for votes. Muat be an erection in the wind.
