    Cappy.
I'm not a big drinker but I get my two bottles of Penfold cream every month, around $12 a bottle.

When I was on the Harperly on of Harrisons of London we were running down to Conakry, no booze there so my mate made some , got one of the cooks big pans put in all kinds Limes, potatoes , god knows what else, left it behind the spud locker for a few days, then asked the bosun to try a drop which he swigged down, then collapsed, he was unconscious for about half and hour. My mate Joe threw the cooks pan over the side. One thing the bosun never put us in.

Last time in London, summer 2022, I was shocked at some of the beer prices.

Any where from GBP 7 up to one Soho pub where they were asking GBP20 a pint.

But have found on the net one pub close to Lords cricket ground only asking GBP 5 a pint.

Heer in Oz we have a major problem, twice a year indexation on grog tax,
Had to pay $50.20 for a slab of 30 cans.
Last week only $48.90 for the same.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Small cans or big cans? I can get 24 x 440ml cans for about £18

Who buys beer by price? Supermarkets always have the likes of Carling or Carlsberg (Probably the worst beer in the world) on offer. I drink very little beer now. The old adage is certainly true in my case . Drink a pint and -iss a quart.
I will have a can or bottle of Guinness now and then. Nothing wrong with a good whisky while relaxing watching the TV.

I buy good beers mainly, but only when the price is right. I get p-ssed off when I see "imported" beers selling at high prices but are actually brewed down the road in the UK.

    Our cans are 375 ml.
At $50 for 30 is about $1.66 per can.
Some imported stuff is much dearer and not so good.
Millers and Bud from USA and Corona from Mexico.
Lot of boutique breweries springing up at crazy prices for a pint, but there are those who will pay.
    Tried some, nothing special!!
    Happy daze John in Oz.

I might add that most of the cans are around the 4.8% alcohol content.

Met some from UK in our local club last year, they though the beer here is much stronger than in UK.
What is the alcohol level in UK now?

About the same John, some weaker, some stronger. I was out with my grandson last Friday, and I drove. I had beer that was 0.05% alcohol, but it tasted like beer and we were out together. Our usual pub that we walk to was rammed for some reason.
I was out to a club with my brother-in-law once in my car, I drank 0% beer for the first time. After a few, I worried that I was getting pie-eyed, but I think it was a psycho thing, once outside it cleared.
