I was on the Bhamo for two or three trips as Second Mate, it was a good run, out to Rangoon, calling at places in India and also Colombo.
I can remember Sheridan was the Captain, he was Polish, Lawrance Ayemung was the Third Officer, Mackenzie was the chippy and I am not sure if the R/O was Macleod.
Some personnel had been on board for many trips, it was good.

Hi Jim,
I sailed with an AB, Tommy Melia on the old Franconia in the summer of 1956, is it the same man?
I am so sorry to hear of any seamans death.
All the best
Brian.

To Capt Bill Davies,
I am not sure but will be seeing him in three weeks time at the reunion of the Fourah Bay, which is held in Liverpool every two years.
Somewhat surprised that there is no mention of it on this forum, I sailed on herfor her first three trips, wonderful memories, the last was as headman.

Colin,
I knew of Lawrence by name only from the Nautical Institute although, I am no longer a member.
Why don't you start a thread. You will be surprised at how many old shipmates will appear.

Re: MV Bhamo 1965
My dad was chief steward on the Bhamo and sailed with Captain Sheridan. Would like to hear any tales.
