Assisted Dying.
OK it's kinda political subject at the moment, but it could affect us all in time.
In the UK parliament, they're discussing the Assisted Dying bill. I've been listening to it on the telly and there are some good points being made. Is it the beginning of the end for older people of the future?
They're talking about rules and regulations concerning the matter, for the medical people and the recipients of the service. There will also be "panels" to decide things.
The bit that get's me, is the fact that it will be a lawful event. Laws can, and will be changed over time to suit the trends. A bit like, a few years time it'll get tweaked a bit to include older people that maybe are just sick, but costing the country loadsamoney, so they can be save a few billion. Just think of all the pension money they won't have to pay out.
Maybe in time there will be no consultation about health, just it's your time to go, due to the fact you're a bleedin nuisance.
Waddya fink People?
Oh! I just thought, maybe I've posted about it before, but forgotten about it? that could be a reason to get the special treatment?

Re: Assisted Dying.
There has been assisted dying in the UK for years!!!
Who remembers a medical practice called the Liverpool care pathway. Long and short of it wasyou were heavily sadated leading to you not being feed or taking liquids.
Also Hospitals were also provided cash incentives to achieve targets for the number of patients placed on the LCP.
I know also for a fact my father inlaw was finally put to sleep. He was in a lot of pain due to his cancer and really did not have long to go. We asked the nurse can she not give him something to ease his pain. She disappeared came back and said she would up his Morphine dosage. She did say if I give him this dosage he may well not wake up again, you had best say your goodbyes now. Got a phone call at 6am in the morning saying he had passed away peacefully in his sleep. We went up to the hospital at 7.30 am as he was still on the ward. He was already stone cold. No problems our end no guilt either.
Why they have to have a bunch of MP's making a decision and faff about granting you a choice of living or dying is a load of rubbish.
Big worry is a year or two down the road more pressure will be applied on you and family memebers to get you done and dusted!!!
I wonder though, will there be any implications from Life Insurance companies if you opt for the final shot will they deem your act as a suicide, we all know insurance companies they will look for any excuse not to pay out.
