Re: The Bid for Leadership Race....
Cappy, we must never deride Jeremy Corbyn, he was the best thing the Tory party ever had. It always how many people could not see they were on self destruct with Corbyn. If you recall , with the voting at that time, he was able for a time to stop the call for a general election, he knew himself his days were finished. Unfortunately he still sits quietly in the corner of parliament earning good money,.

Who threw the Clown out of his gold wallpapered residence, paid for by a Tory Lord, denied by a Tory Clown?
Yes folks it was the Tory party. Not the press or the public, the party many here support and vote for.
Why are so many complaining on this site? Your complaints should be addressed to the Tory party.
I say good riddance to a man who is a compulsive liar, blustering buffoon, totally unfit to lead this country.

Re: The Bid for Leadership Race....
Well whoever ends up winning the leadership contest just as long as they do not want the flat given a refurb as it is not that long since it was done.
Covid related deaths UK 200,892 ,Italy 170,000, France 147,000, Germany 142,500, Spain 109,000 yes Boris did a grand job handling the Covid Pandemic.
Overall, a total of 200,892 people in the UK have now had coronavirus recorded on their death certificate since the pandemic began, the ONS said.
If the government had not dithered and delayed in going into lock down the death rate perhaps would be closer to those who did act earlier.
The country owes the NHS a big thankyou for the unselfish work they did during the Pandemic. It is just a shame those in power decided it was party season in Downing street during lock downs. Come the next general election the electorate will remember the actions of those in power at that time.

Re: The Bid for Leadership Race....
Commenting with hindsight is so simple. What would other parties ,if in power ,would have done differently? - that is at the time, not with hindsight !
They probably thought---"Hmm-,we're not sure what we are going to do---but I know, let's criticize the party in power, and pick up on everything they do-and even if they are doing the right thing-let's just say they are wrong "........

Is that not just what politics is, a Blame game!!!
Is that what David Cameron did in 2010 when he formed had to form a coalition government with the LibDems?
but anyway Covid, Boris keeps blowing his horn about how he handled Covid, let's forget about the dodgy deals and government contracts made to friends & friends of friends about aquiring PPE for the NHS.
In terms of ensuring the NHS has the capacity to treat COVID-19 patients, Britons are more critical of the government. Half (53%) say the government has handled this badly, including 27% who say this part of the pandemic response has been handled “very badly”. Four in ten (39%) think handling of NHS resources has been managed well.
YouGov.co.uk poll
The area Britons feel the government has performed worst in is limiting the spread of the virus, which 70% of people think the government has done badly. Nearly half (49%) of Conservative voters agree, as do 90% of Labour supporters and 87% of Lib Dems.
Anyway the topic is like a game of table tennis just pinging a ball around now and again one wins a game. The two candidates now pitch to the Conservative party members so we will know who the next PM will be. Hopefully they can get the economy going again and inflation brought under control. Kids these days are finding it hard enough to get on the property ladder last thing they need are increasing mortgage interest rates.

Re: The Bid for Leadership Race....
Commenting on hindsight wasn't Sir Beer Korma fighting to keep the UK in the EU medical authorisation board. If he had have had is way the vaccine programme would have been delayed by months.
A lot of the posting show such a complete lack of knowledge on how Government works. Ministers do not order goods, the relevant C.S. department orders all goods.
